There's no way Rocky's back can handle fighting so many bigger fighters for such a long period of time. I definitely see him having a losing record by the end of it.

I wonder what Lennox Lewis’s record would be if he were born in 1924 ? No Emmanuel Steward.. probably doesn’t have the luxury of such a long amateur career. More primitive training and nutritional guidelines. Has to fight more frequently to earn money, build a record and against guys he knows little or nothing about beforehand…. Might be interesting !

Lennox excelled in basketball, football, and soccer in high school. That requires a broad range of skills and suggests he was a natural athlete.

Rocky would have an even worse score than if he had fought Muhammad Ali's competition. Rocky Marciano is still one of the smallest HW champions, and it is very possible that he would lose to e.g. Željko Mavrović (who became European champion, lost only to Lennox; on points, and retired). It would be very difficult for Rocky starting in the second half of the 90s and the fight with Ray Mercer. Let me say that Rocky would definitely lose to Vitali. And it is very possible that Rocky would have lost some fights in the first half of the 90s.

Has nothing to do with who or what he’d be if he were born in a completely different time and lived through a completely different set of circumstances.

He retires after being drubbed into a coma by Gary Mason.

It's enough to just say "No Emmanuel Steward..", so Lennox Lewis would also have a worse score against his competition.

Would he still not be big, strong, and agile which is evident by the sports he excelled at in high school which require different skill sets? He would have made a great defensive end/ outside linebacker.

Realistically Rocky should lose to the likes of Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Tommy Morrison, Michael Grant, Shannon Briggs, Hasim Rahman and Andrew Golota due to the massive massive physical advantages combined with the skills they have.

I'd pick Rocky to beat guys like Mike Weaver, Francois Botha, Oliver McCall and probably David Tua.

He matches up well with Holyfield when it comes to size but I could see Holyfield winning a competitive fight, Vitali demolishes Rocky.

I think we all know Rocky would be too small to compete with a lot of the big boys that Lennox tangled with. Rocky is a HW great no doubt due to his impressive and unbeaten reign in his own era, but he’s not a H2H HW great considering some of the monsters that emerged from 30 years later and onwards. He’d struggle to assert himself against even some of the so called lesser giants that Lewis met.

Having said all that I can see the little guy having successes against the likes of Epps, Gorrell, Chanet and McCrory…and he would make life difficult for some others too.

But once tough, hard hitting and sizeable guys like Mason, Bruno, Morrison, Ruddock etc, started coming over the horizon, Rocky’s size and reach limitations would start to take its toll very badly on him.

*Edit: It’s quite feasible that he could get lucky against Morrison…hard puncher and dodgy jawbone equals a punchers chance.

Marciano had some tough, ferocious battles in the 50s so can you imagine what state his face and body would be in, dealing with some of those 1990s giants! Almost every fight would be a war for him. Apart from those where he’s thankfully stopped early.

Grant wasn't skilled and had a certified glass jaw, Briggs had very low boxing IQ and terrible stamina, Rahman was as basic as they come, Bruno and Golota always freezed at the big stage, Morrison had glass chin and wasn't very big HW himself, Tucker was old and exactly that version of Tucker lost to Marciano-sized cruiserweight Orlin Norris.

So, I think, Rocky wouldn't have had a bad record against these opponents. I can't imagine him being even remotely effective against Vitali, but I give him a decent to even chances against old Holyfield, Ray Mercer. I'd slightly favor him against fat Tua, McCall, old Tucker, Bruno, Ruddock, Golota and Akinwande. And I'd strongly favor him against Rahman, Briggs, Botha, Grant and Mavrovich

The keyword was "Should" Like I said with physical advantages in height, reach and weight and the skills they have no matter how basic they are (When was basic a bad thing?) They should beat a man with the reach of a featherweight and the size of a light heavyweight.
