What's so great about Canelo?

    Have you seen him fight? what other fighter other then Maidana throws bombs like he does but wins.

    Mediocre? No he is not. That its a word that its easy to say from outside the ring. He doesn't do anything great. But does a lot of thing pretty damn well. Very strong, dedicated, and above all, smart. 21y/o and has his own business already. 40-0 and his body hasn't mature yet. Competition level isn't the best yet. But a lot better than JC Jr. at that age. He is good to watch.
    I don't think he will stay at that weight very long. The kid is very thick.

    His age is what's important.
    His boxing skills are so so, people like how 'poised' he appears to be in the ring.
    His record is nice, but most of it is obviously padding.
    He is young, but Thomas Hearns was 22 when he fought Sugar, so his age doesn't really impress me or indicate he is going to be a good fighter.
    Basically, he will have to wait and see what he can do.
    Ortiz fight will be interesting.

    He's been beating decent opposition since before he was old enough to drink (at least in the US...not sure how lax they are back home...he probably drank the worm on his quinceaneros for all I know. :lol: :freddy)
