Katasdis was ****ing out it after the KD he couldnt even walk to the ref straight u could see the ref had a uncomfertable look letting the fight continue and a few more bombs later he was even more done.

Any reasonable person would agree that the stoppage was just.

Nothing was wrong with that stoppage. I think some people are a little quick to call a stoppage bad, especially if the winner is a fighter they don't like.

Good stoppage. Only savages would want to see more.

It was clear Casamayor was just gonna keep hurting him more. boxing is about beating your opponent with skill not battering him into a comma.

It's classic crybabyism. Both the Vera and Casamayor wins came off of justifiable stoppages.

It wasnt a poor stoppage, infact i thought it was pretty late, when Kats got up and was still shaky the ref should of stopped the fight there.

Ok im glad I created the thread that the smart people visted lets just hope the nuthuggers dont visit. BTW I picked Lee and Katasdis to win these fights and im ok with the lose tonight the one on Friday was good it just looks suspect cause Lee landed that lefthand but watch him his balance was so poor from that punch it was only a matter of time.

Yeah dude. I almost couldn't believe that the ref let the fight go on longer, after Katsidis looked so wobbly on his feet when he got up.

I wouldn't have had a problem with the Lee Vera fight being stopped had it been before that left hand. Once he threw it, he proved he still had enough wits about him to fight back, although if he had been hit a few more times he would have probably went down and not have gotten back up. The last part is only hypothetical though...

i would have gave it a little more time. . but thats just me. I dont disagree with the stoppage. . he was clearly hurt but he was also throwing at the time of the stoppage. I would have gave it a little more time to see if he would have been able to work himself out of it.

but it definately wasnt a BAD call

Yeah not bad at all u just got worry as a ref even when the guys throwing back like ala Hearns-Leonard 1 the steam just isnt there anymore on the losers punches and hes getting nailed with flush shots on weak legs after already stumbling back to u after the KD. Fighters safety is most important im not 100 percent sure id have stopped it probablly would have but I cant imagine myself stopping Vera-Lee at that time not calling robbery or anything but thats how I wouldve did it.

anybody who said that it was a poor stoppage should be be shot. even katsidis did not complain. now if the fighter did not complain after the ref put his arms round him, then nobody else can say that it was a poor stoppage. look closely an you will see that katsidis was holding on to the ropes to stay up just as the ref called it off

It was a bad stoppage in the sense that boxers are fighters and are supposed to go out on their shields. Fighters from back in the day were giving much more lee-way, as were guys like Gatti, Marciano, Ward, etc...

He wasn't out on his feet. Out on your feet is what Castillo was versus Corrales. That was a good stoppage. Give the fighter a chance. Had he taken a couple of more flush shots, then stop it.

Lee actually landed a 1-2 when his fight was stopped. When Mitchel fought Calzaghe, the fight was stopped as he landed a punch too. Katsidis was hurt, but other fighters have been hurt worse and given a chance.

Had this ref been the ref for Pavlik-Taylor, he would of most likely stopped it in the second round.
