If you are a fighter or like fighters it was a bad stoppage. 10 years ago if would have never have been stopped but now people are just soft.

That's why MMA is kicking boxing's ass!

omg. . . seriously man, get off it already

you have boxing fans. . . and you have MMA fans

nobodies keeping scorecards between the apples and oranges arguments except for dumbasses who keep trying to push the paces because they have nothing of real value to discuss in their miserable lives.

this renewed stoppages unlike 20 or so years ago was good for boxing, its to avoid ring deaths and brain damage. The stopagge on tonights fight were good stoppage. Only katsidis fan boys deemed of it as bad stoppage and robbery.

I picked Kats via close decission on that fight . . . but no excuses for that, he got caught . . . and that was a good stoppage. It's good for him to live and fight another day than seeing him with a possible brain damage.

Fight was stopped too soon and while Katsidis was still throwing punches. Refs are stopping fights too soon. The same people are complaining about the stoppage of Taylor in the first Chavez/Taylor fight.

What? is anybody disputing the stoppage?

Katsidis walked into a very well placed hook and got hurt badly enough for the ref to have stopped the fight but was allowed to continue to take more punishment.

There is nothing wrong with that stoppage. I know there are a few Katsidis fans here that wanted him to walk out with the victory but come on, give Casa his props.

Im a nuthugger towards Katsidis but still wont complain about the stoppage.

One thing i will complain about is how some within the general forum (not saying anyone inparticular) think that Katsidis was EXPOSED.

We all knew from the get go(even his ozzie fans such as myself) that Mike is no sugar ray leonard nor will he ever be.

I think he fought exactly how every1 expected him to and if he wasnt so careless in the later rounds may of won by decision.Key words being( MAY OF).

Sorry if im ranting on im just abit pissed how some idiots can say Katsidis got exposed as a hype job by losing in a very tough bout that could of gone ever way against a olympic gold medalist/world titlist future hall of famer.

Anyway im going back to the Oz Forum where more common sense is USUALLY spoken.

Soft? I guess the average fan enjoys seeing carnage and brutal knockouts, and of course I too love to watch boxing wars. But this isn't a video game, we're dealing with the lives and long term health of these boxers. Any punishment Katsidis would have taken after that last knockdown would have been totally unnecessary. He was done.

And by the way, the amount of punishment that a fighter takes in an MMA match doesn't even come close to the toll that a long, grueling boxing match takes on a fighter's long term health.

Katsidis fans (and fans that want to see highlight reel KO's that could damage a fighter's health) overreacted like crazy to the stoppage. It wasn't bad at all. It's also not comparable to the Vera-Lee situation.

This Brian guy is a complete idiot. I'm beginning to think he's only here to stir up **** and isn't even for real.

I dont think it was a bad stoppage either, i actually believe the ref gave Kats a huge break by not stopping the fight after the KD, Kats was on ***** street when he got up, wobbled towards the ref stumbling sideways at one point and was actually given WAY to much time by the ref to recover. BTW Kats desperately needs to learn how to not try and act like a bad ass and get right up after getting KD/hurt. This includes the first 2 KD's where he wasn't badly hurt, but why not take the full ten. Stay on a knee for 7-8 seconds to gather yourself as much as possible and continue. He should've done the same thing at the last KD, instead he got up very soon in the count and looked similar to the ZAB dance.

Perfect stoppage. Katsidis is lucky the ref even gave him a chance to come back. He was out of it for a few minutes after the stoppage.
