Watch Shane in his prime (or even well past it) and you'll get the answer you need. edit - Just realised how old thread is...still like i said ^
Vargas was a well-developed boxer-puncher. Oscar De La Hoya was an excellent boxer. Golden Johnson was a technically sound boxer. Collazo was a technical boxer and top contender. He's only lost in his prime to two stylistic nightmares above his best weight. Prime Sugar Shane Mosley was technically better than most fighters out there today. Those who characterize him and his competition as "brawlers" simply don't know **** about boxing. You can learn a lot about watching Mosley, particularly the myriad of ways he set up his right hand (before he faded and began loading it up and relying on it); smartly slipping a jab, perhaps after bating it, and coming back over the top is a classic textbook move he mastered and executed in deadly fashion. His body attack was varied and accurate, and he could counter well to mix up his offensive rhythm with sharp shots his opponents rarely saw coming. This thread is old, but the false dichotomy of "if you're not a slickster, you're a brawler with no defense" unfortunately remains.
Does your quality of posting ever drop? I have lazy nights; doesn't seem like you do! I rewatched Trinidad - Vargas last night and was very impressed with how composed Vargas was; people forget that he really was a good Boxer.
:thumbsup Excellent post that bud. But you know the majority in the general will just glaze over while reading it.
Thanks! & **** them. If they don't want to talk real boxing they can read right over and keep posting their simple-minded bull**** :good
Probably for the same reason they allow semi literate ******s like yourself to post in "this kind of threads". :yep
What stupidity. How about you go on youtube and actually find out what is so special about Shane Mosley. I guarantee you the Shane who was a beast at 147 gives problems to ANY of the top fighters today. I think he beats Pac. Shane was a MONSTER. Why don't you try to figure out why a guy like Briedis Prescott is so effective then realize that SSM is twice the fighter he ever was. SUPER fast Boxer Puncher with a tight punch arc, freakishly long arms, and and IRON chin? If you don't know what is so special about that? YDKSAB. I say this and I have never even been a fan of SSM. You are out of your non-Boxing understanding mind! :bart
:goodHere if you learn just one of em something then it's worth the effort. I wish i could articulate and express my views that good. The word amatuer under your name doesn't seem apt. Good stuff.
Looks like you fancy yourself as being a bright one? Look, dumbass, you are a *****, and *****s as a general rule are uneducated and dumb! make a poll and I will help your cause by actually voting that you have a decent grey mater. But it will be a lopsided poll, similar to the "FLOORED" thread, which coincidentally is also about a *****!
darryl was such a ****. He and HENDO might be the worst regulars the General Forum has had over the last few years.
