What's the best boxing venue in Britain... Your choice...!

It's a shithole. It may have a decent atmospher and it may have seats close to the ring but its still a shithole

 

But as Buncey said, in an article, it is OUR shithole :deal

 

Leeds Town Hall.

Mainly because it would only take me half hour to walk home :yep

The York Hall is the closest thing I have seen to the old style boxing halls/clubs.

I do not want to see 15 minutes of fireworks in a 40 minute ring entrance by a fighter, I want to watch a fight, preferably with a pint in my hand, the York Hall gave me that.

 

I agree. The York Hall just makes you feel liked you've walked back in time to a era of boxing that isn't around anymore.

That is proper boxing!

Places like the MEN and O2 are fine if you like huge, sterile arenas with no character where the fighters are just dots but I like to feel like im close up and really part of something.

I saw Fury vs Mcdermott at the Brentwood Centre and that was a nice cosy venue too.

I can remember when we had the Tories and it was so hot in Yorkshire we had to have hose pipe bans and have water driven in because it was like being in the Caribean all year round. Straight away the commies get in we get nothing but drizzle and now snow for months on end.

Hardly the venue's fault though is it that

 

I've never actually been to a show there..... but being a cheapskate and all - after spending a few quid in various places I think local promoters ought to pull their finger out.

They stage shows at the marquee at Elland Road but it's £70 a ticket with a five course meal.... so unless you've got 9 mates willing to go with you, you're likely to be sat with a bunch of strangers!

Not sure any of my mates own a DJ......

The Ice Arena has good seats, mine was only £45 but the view was spot on..... but how it passes the Health & Safety checks I don't know - unless it was just the **** undercard that forced everyone to booze all night!

 

the york hall is a bit special but small,MEN is very good and the O2 as to be right up there.
