Who deserves more props / respect for being victorious at 154?

Keep in mind that Floyd is 36 fighting at a weight he's uncomfortable at and a size disadvantage but with more experience.

Whilst Canelo is the younger man with a 22lbs size advantage fighting at a weight he's comfortable at.

1 - How did you work out the 22lb size difference? It's tough to call 50/50 really

It's a great win for Floyd, but the man who takes Floyds 0 is always getting the best win.

    Canelo.

Mayweather in his last 154lbs came in at 150 fight night whereas Canelo came in around 172. That's a 22lbs difference.

Canelo. Size alone will not win him the fight.

If Floyd wins, he uses his speed to beat a solid young champion with some weight on him. If Canelo wins, it means he was smart enough, complete enough, and willing enough to crack the code of an ATG defensive boxer.

So judging from the reactions already... if a Canelo victory is better. Which makes me think, why should Floyd give him that size advantage? I would understand if Floyd gained more victory but f•ck that if fans won't give him more props in winning over Canelo then rehydration clause straight up!

Canelo would get more credit. Mayweather would be the favorite and rightfully so. Canelo could wind up being just another win for Mayweather depending on what Alvarez does in the rest of his career. However, Canelo would always be defined as the guy to first beat Mayweather. It's similar to how Tarver will always be famous for giving Jones his first real loss.

*****s don't even want the fight at 147 its an embarrassing look for mayweather, some fans of him have publicly criticized him and stated they won't take this draining bs.

It's the biggest fight to be made.

Canelo gets more props, canelo would Still be the underdog and most say canelo is a walk in the park.. so if canelo wins it would be a great win for him.

If may wins, all those *****s saying canelo Is a bum with no skills but size will feed people into saying the win is meaningless. They burning their grave by discrediting the win instead of praising this great fight and how it would benefit his cherry picking career of making excuses for the biggest fights available and letting them slip by.

154 or nothing...147 talk is stupid

i do think they will have a rehydration clause hopefuly it wont be a crippling one..i do not think anelo should be able to hydrate from 154 to 170+ facing a 147 fighter....who in his last 154 bout was only 150

The best thing would be to make the fight at 154 with a re-hydration limit of around 165. It doesn't cripple Canelo and limits his advantage to around 15 lbs.

This would be a bigger win for Canelo, a win would put him on the way to stardom and would say without a doubt he is the best at 154. If Mayweather was to win a new name would appear who he was avoiding.

Canelo would be ATG already if he beat Mayweather, because Mayweather is still EXTREMELY fast and strong and has the skill and intelligence to deal with Canelo.

Canelo. Regardless of size, it'd be a relatively unproven 22-year-old beating a historically-great fighter.

    Agreed.

    Or Canelo's, for that matter.

If Floyd was in his 20's, this question would be greated with ridicule. Although he's relatively old for a welterweight, he showed enough against Guerrero that any win against him would be momentous.
