That's because Dawson has a 'glass jaw':lol::lol:

Obviously I agree with you and not with that statement.

Johnson is clearly a hurtful puncher. The whole 'feather-fisted' thing was just to discredit Roy Jones' (non-existent) 'glass jaw' even further.

it's a tough but clear question. trouble is, a feather fisted guy has to always be innovating, out-thinking, moving one step ahead...because he has nothing that is going to make the other guy think twice about taking risks trying to hurt him...in exchanges, the feather fisted fellow will always get the worse of it, even when landing the cleaner shots behind a tight defense. a feather fisted fighter better have a heck of a chin...to draw both aspects of the debate to the center. a light hitter has to find a way to be a points fighter in the pro ranks, no small task, but, i think, still easier than having a glass jaw. a light hitter cannot succeed unless he squares himself with it and throws punches in bunches anyway...aware of the fact that if a guy takes your best shot, well, give him another and another and so on. pernell whittaker was a light hitter, after all, and took that disadvantage to miraculous heights at the world class level.

the glass jaw...the worst physical or emotional trait a fighter can have. you cannot train your way into a better beard, not really. it's genetic, biophysical...like stamina is predetermined by muscle oxygenation ceilings. however, you can crash course your body into stretching the limits of stamina through hard work, time and pressure. getting hit on the glass jaw only makes it worse...increases the damage and the fear. a glass jaw means that even a truly world class fighter, like wlad klitschko, for example is permanently vulnerable even to fighters drastically, smaller and less technically proficient. a glass jawed fighter must have a massive, natural athletic talent, even more than a great defense, and choose his opponents carefully...concealing the fact of a glass jaw is the only hope. hey, roy jones jr. was the best fighter in the game for years, a legend, in this very way.

It depends on the weight division and the match-up.

rico, i know you are the "glass jaw" spotter on this forum.
i want to ask you, 1. do you box? and 2. how do you know weather you have a glass jaw or not?

its sad that you say that a glass jaw is a disgrace, cos its not the fault of the individual, God's the one that creates us, giving us weaknesses such as a "glass jaw" are just God's way of testing us and our resolve as people etc.

teddy atlas has said that he feels God gave mike tyson a solid/strong body and a weak mind as a test. he felt mike would have to work hard to strengthen it, which he did but didnt last too long.(mike would always need encouragement/confidence to make him perform and not quit.)

rico if you do box, then i suggest you stop this insulting and ridiculous bullS about glass jaws, cos God may decide to punish you in a "disgraceful" manner.
would you admit you have a glass jaw after getting KTFO?

c'mon guys im ready for your "get off you religious wAnka" etc:lol:

Some have accused Floyd Mayweather of hiding a glass jaw with his defense/running and having feather fists, so if it were true he has carved out a pretty damn good career for himself considering these attributes.

These people are, of course, idiot haters.

Didn't you know, Juan Diaz got sparked by Juan Manuel Marquez. In Rico's book that makes him a glass jaw too now
