    Fight night weights

    Mayweather wouldhave been 150-154

So it's 10-15 pounds for Ortiz.

I just joined here, and Floyd's my boy, but you seem to be a little too much into him. From readings posts, you seem to be riding his dick too much.

Surely JCC Jr's in with a shout? If only anyone bothered to weigh him properly...or drug test him properly...

I think Charley Burley and Henry Armstrong both fought some substantially larger opponents.

ted kid lewis was a 147 welter and ko'd a 200 lb heavyweight.

greb beat a heavyweight contender as a middleweight

bute and chavez jr come in pretty heavy.

they need to do weigh ins on fight day like the old school.

stops the cheats from re hydrating and fooling casual fans.

weight had nothing to do with gamache getting his ass handed to him. lack of skill was the main reason. he was no where near the level of gatti for that fight.

you are way way way off here. Gamache was a skilled little boxer without that much pop who was OUTBOXING JCC before he got broken down. He had no power and could not take heavy shots, but it WAS NOT skill. Too small for those heavy handed weight gainers.

Gamache was a malignaggi type, plenty of skill. He was 55-4 with 38 stoppages. Two of those losses were JCC and the middleweight sized Gatti. Another was to Tony Lopez.

The Gatti/Gamache fight ended up with a major lawsuit and brain damage. It was a disgrace and the one black eye on Gatti's career.

Currently, JCC Jr. has to own the weight disparity crown. He diuretics down to 160, but who knows what he really weighs on fight night.
