What's the ceiling for Agit Kabayel?

I was impressed by the guy's focus and strength in taking out Makhmudov. He stuck to his plan, circling away from the right and beating the body, until the ogre fell. Sounds easier than it was. I haven't seen him fight much else. What's the thoughts on his future in the mix with the elite heavies? There seems to be a turnover in the generations of the division.

Seems he's been avoided. He tried to get a fight with Joshua earlier this year, but was turned down.

Sadly, he's only been fighting once a year.

He got some good exposure on that card and he had a very impressive performance. I'm not sure his ceiling but a fight with Dubois, Parker or Joyce would make sense.

Kabayel was ordered to fight Joyce a few years back and vacated the title instead. So I suspect the avoiding goes both ways.

His performances against Chisora, Rudenko and now Makhmudov suggest he has a decent ceiling. He arguably handled Chisora with more ease than anyone save Fury, though he wasn't as destructive as Haye.

Crazy to me that he beat a prime Chisora (who was Top 10-15 at the time) 6 years ago with ease, yet hasn't had a meaningful fight since until now. Still young though, and now is the time we find out. Looked very good Vs the overrated but menacing Makhmudov, and I'd probably rate him around 12th in the world right now

What I was most impressed with was his demeanor all week. Everyone was saying how he would get knocked out. And he stayed 100% positive all the time. Didn’t brag, didn’t flare up, just cool calm and collected. Then he executed his plan perfectly.

He won half the fight at the stare down center ring. No fear.

Complete arsenal of punches. Good movement. And power as well.

I actually want to see him fight Zhang. I like Zhang. But 75% of his reputation is based on defeating one guy. I think Kabayel’s style can give Zhang problems if it’s the night.

He is going nowhere if he sits on the shelf for another 6 years before facing another highly ranked fighter.

As someone else said he turned down the Joyce fight. I also know he turned down Bakole.

Therefore this isn’t the story of someone who has been ducked. This goes both ways. It’s everything that is wrong with boxing.

If I was pushed I doubt he ever gets a title shot. Based on previous history that is the most likely outcome here. He doesn’t have a big financial backing in the sport and he doesn’t take on ranked fighters when he gets the chance.

His first real opponent will break him down and take him apart.

Only one man can defeat Agit Kabayel and his name is Daniel Dubois

Kabayel impressed me a lot. I thought Kabayel would lose this fight going into it (only one noteworthy win 6 years ago against Chisora and only fought low level guys since).

Kabayel did vacate the European title when Joyce fight was ordered.

Kabayel did sign a contracts to fight Fury in two separate occasions but Fury decided to opt for another opponent.

I want to see Kabayel vs Sanchez.

Hes a tough cookie with decent skills. Looks like he gets hit alot in the fights ive seen him. Decent fight for anyone in the top 8-15, he would give Dubois good fight. He would have a decent fight with Wallin. If he beats the ones around him, sure he deserves a title shot, but there are many infront of him right now waiting.
