What's the Classic opinion: could B-Hop really move up and defeat Haye?

If you think Haye would be doing any moving against Hopkins you're nuts. He'll shut him down inside 5 rounds.

Haye's own stamina is a weakness though. He did a lot of moving against Valuev, but it was not intense at all, it was calm, comfortable, sparring speed movement, not the intense full-blooded incessant movement of a real fight, so Haye would not have had to expend the same amount of energy as if he had actually been engaged in a serious fight for 36 minutes. His best plan would be to try and bomb Hopkins out early. I fear he would manage it, as Hopkins did not look as solid as he usually does against Ornelas, and if Haye possesses anything, it's power.

NO! Hops is great between 160 to 180 pounds, but he is NOT a Cruiser / Heavy........ Dave Haye is too young, big, quick & slick for the smaller and much older B-Hops............. Hops stays competitive with Haye for a few rds, but then merely looks to survive the distance.......... Haye wins......... No need for this match........ I have ZERO interest in it, as well......

And it wouldnt have to be against a light hitting 45 year old who fights at a slower pace than Valueav, just enough to keep him off balance and away on the end of his punches.

Bombing him out early would be foolish and most likely wouldnt happen, beating him down by mid fight most likely would.

One fact is that, in essence Hopkins is far better than David Haye. How can this have a bearing on a potential match? I don't know. If they were to fight, Haye's plan should be simple imo, unload.

Hopkins was getting tagged last night. Haye almost had the 7ft giant on his back, Hopkins can't take kind of firepower.

That's why i said Haye shouyld use the plan that suits his preferred style, just unload. I'm recognising the size difference in conjunction with Hopkins' age.

But yet, you still give Hopkins a chance. Can't relate on that one, Teeto.

In virtually every other fight in his career except Valuev, Haye has tried to bomb his opponent early. Against a comparatively light-hitting 45 year old who does not possess the physical threat of Valuev, Haye would revert to type, as I think Addie and Teeto are suggesting also.

It's just that think i said earlier, in ssence he's so much better. It just made me think, we write him off so often. I'd put money on Haye at the bookies but i'd put money on both men just in case. Haye's a hard man to outbox because of his (usually) ferocious and powerful style, but Hopkins is a master boxer that he's never saw the likes of. That's all i meant, i'm not favouring Hopkins, just a chance.

Use the Calzahge gameplan, just make the old man work and outwork him. Easy stuff for a young heavyweight.

He'd definitely revert to type, i'm willing to go all out on that one.

Even though Haye has an official win from using a style that's not his favourite, the nature of his performance hardly made me think he was a versatile fighter. I sound stupid for saying that but i said it. I do concede that he has adapted and therefore can, but if you get what i mean then you get what i mean.

Yes but Hopkins is still slick and savvy, it would not behoove him to go balls out when he could simply outwork the guy and possibly stop him later. When has BHop ever been bombed out? The guy has a good chin, and Haye could run into something with his bad one.

Yes by Calzahge was slapping, Haye at least has Cruiser power, that would be the difference later in the fight.
