Haye tried to fall to the ground..... that one didnt work

Wlad grabs your arms, so you cant rip him to the body

And the referee is gonna let him do it all night so no Hatton Mayweather Cortez help there

So whats the best counter strategy?

Rip to the body like Jennings said.

Brock had no problem going to the body, Jennings said he had no problem digging to the body in the clinch.

The key is doing more than that, which is hard since Wlad is so good at anticipating and parrying punches aimed for his head.

Body shots. Jennings landed plenty of them and Wlad felt the pain.

Just outbox him like Sanders did.
Sanders beat him to the punch, nullified his jab and and he went down in 2 rounds.

If you can't do that then yeah, go to the body and try to squirm out of his tentacles. (This would require very much stamina due to the bigger stronger guy wrestling you). Then you end up behind him and punch him in the kidney. Trade a foul for a foul.

I always thought a fighter should circle to their right and aim every punch at his left arm, body, ribs back. Moving to the right takes away his right hand and after a few rounds of punching him in the arm, takes the sting off that jab of his. This strategy ignore going for the head until later. He's too tall and a he's great at taking that scoot straight back to avoid a head punch. This tactic would require good footwork, a thing most heavyweights don't have these days.

Take a step back and land a huge counter right (when you see him attempting the clinch).

Firstly beat him to the punch. The whole point of the jab and grab tactic Wlad utilises is to land first and then clinch to prevent a counter. If you beat Wlad to the punch then when Wlad clinches all he does is deny himself the opportunity to counter. Jennings tried this, usually going to the body as it was the easier target.

Once in the clinch, do not square up, it makes it easier for Wlad to smother you. Stand side on with your shoulder between yourself and Wlad and this will force Wlad to reach further to grab you and even is he does as you have the shoulder to create space you will have the room to throw even when clinched.

If you can't turn side on in time to create that space, then try using a forearm to create a gap between you and Wlad to allow you the room to work on the inside. Drive that forearm into his throat and head and make that space.

If you can't employ the forearm in time and Wlad clinches you when squared up then do what Jennings did and drive your head into Wlad's throat to create the space to work on the inside. This pressure to his throat will push Wlad's head back and where the head goes the body follows. This will create the space to punch Wlad on the inside.

Im guessing world class boxers with their highly skilled training teams have thought they had the answer to this until the fight starts.

hayes tactic was to go to the floor every time he felt vlad leaning on him cuz he knew the ref wasnt guna be in a rush to get in there. Awful to watch but haye wasnt looking too knackered at the end.

Jennings said hed work the body like hell but it was easier said than done not easy to throw effective accurate body shots when your virtually bent double looking at your own feet.

To punch him in his hideous egg shell mandible putting him to sleep. Anthony Joshua will prove that, or David Haye if all hos toes are OK.

I think the best counter to a foul is another foul; so I'll say low blows and headbutts.
