Thats what I heard as well, Oscar wasnt allowed to come in heavier than 147 or Manny got an additional amount per extra pound.

I am not so sure I mean if he did accept those terms I dont think he would make them public~ and I do recall there being a weight cap if he came in more than x amount of pounds he would have to pay Manny extra.

So I think Oscar knew he wouldnt be able to win, and cashed in, kept his weight low so he could keep all of his money, Probably put down some cash on pacquiao over six, and cleaned house

EVeryone expected HOya to weigh 150+, were they all unaware of these invisible terms? Even Steward said he expected Oscar to come in 154 fight night, he expect Oscar to shell out 24mil?

The terms clearly state "making weight", which applies to the weigh in. Fighters can weigh in whatever they want fight night.

well it was discussed, Roach wanted a million dollar for every lb over the limit Oscar comes in, but Oscar didn't agree to it and was gonna call the fight off and then Roach accepted Oscars terms.

They agreed to it I believe...but these guys think the weight applies to fight night weight, the terms applied to the weigh in night before. Ie Castillo not making weight against Corrales, but can weigh in much more fight night.

Pacquiao tipped the scales at 142 pounds, way off the weight he and his team were expecting.

"Yes, a little bit of a surprise. Seems the scale got calibrated," Freddie Roach told Manila-based journalists inside the press room on Friday after the weigh-in.

Shortly after the weigh-in, Pacquiao went back to his room and used a different scale. He came in at 145.5 pounds, the same weight he had in the morning after breakfast, according to Roach.

Pacquiao was amazed at the difference, disclosing the night before and just an hour before the official weigh-in that he both checked in at 146 pounds.

"I didn't do anything to reduce weight, so I don't know why I came in at 142?" Pacquiao said. "It's hard to be suspicious but as you can see, there's a difference between how I weighed out there and here."

Pacquiao said if there was a four-pound difference between his two "weigh-ins", it could be the same for de la Hoya. "So does that mean Oscar was at 149 pounds?"

A clause in the contracts signed by both Pacquiao and de la Hoya will have de la Hoya paying a $3-million penalty for every excess pound over 147 pounds.

Pacquiao said he didn't want to make a big deal out of the situation. "I don't want to make that an excuse for whatever happens."

    Roach agreed.

"Maybe the scale … I'm not sure. But I'm not accusing anything (sic)," said Roach, who incidentally, also got a positive response from the Nevada State Athletic Commission later in the day, allowing the use of one-inch tape for the boxer's hands instead of two inches.

Thats the report for the official weigh in, ODLH cannot weigh more than 147 for the weigh in. Not for fight night. Fight night is unofficial, fighters cant opt not to weigh in if they want.

Another article on it, clearly states that the clause is for DLH making weight. No mention of not putting on weight for fight night, as was said, even Pac was 148.

I got some posters mad for suggesting that Manny did his own cherry picking for this fight. But, he went up in weight to get a huge pay day, a reputation boost and went in as the underdog. Not all cherry picking is equal but it is what it is.

There is no question the scales were tampered with. As the big man coming down in weight, why would Oscar weigh any less than 147 at the weigh in? The 145 official weight was ridiculous. When you are killing yourself just to make the limit, you don't cut an extra two pounds just for kicks.

I agree, Ace, I also think that his stomach shrank.

It's not Pac's fault DLH came in under, when any logical person expected him to come in 7-10 lbs heavier. How the hell were they suppose to know DLH would come in under? I can't believe you don't know the difference in power between a punch from a WELTERWEIGHT vs a LIGHTWEIGHT (SFW really), as a boxing fan, honestly. You see this sh!t going about size difference between JMM-PBF, and you're saying Pac was cherry picking on a BIGGER MAN.

No DLH wasn't a walking corpse, he threw punches but had a difficult target.
