All I hear is so and so ducked GGG, pricing themselves out, holding the belt hostage. The same happened to Rigo and nothing is said about it.

Strum, Quillin, Jacobs, Saunders, Cotto and Canelo all ducked Golovkin and there is a thread abut it every ****ing day here.

Quigg, Santa Cruz, Martinez, Frampton, Mares and every Mexican alive has ducked Rigondeaux and never a peep.

Is there a difference between the 2 besides weight. A duck is a duck and it should all be abolished but there seems to be an underlying tone when comparing how the situations are handled between the 2 fighters.

People say Rigo should move up if no one will fight him. Agreed!:good

People say GGG should move up if no one will fight him. Pure Pandemonium !:|

Whats the difference? They both want to unify their divisions.

Don't expect too many responses. It'd make a hypocrite out of far too many.

I want Rigo to move up as well, because I dislike Rigo and I think he's too small and will get brutally KTFO at Featherweight. So you're right.....no difference.:good

No one should move if they have a goal. If they want to take a money fight so be it, but Networks and sanctioning bodies are bias too. The WBC would never make Santa Cruz fight Rigo and the same should be considered about Canelo fighting Golovkin.

WBA and WBO stripped Rigo for his belts because guys would not fight him.

Will the WBA and IBF strip GGG if guys don't fight him either?

Anyone that is saying Rigo should move up is in one way complimenting the guy for how good they already must think he is :rasta

I agree, just because I'd like to see it doesn't mean he should, he should stick to his goal and try to achieve it. Rigo probably shouldn't have been stripped, but he isn't the most active fighter is he?

    Disagreed.

Rigo is the legitimate king of the SBW division and won't be forced to move up by anyone.

The reason he is being avoided is because pretty much all of his potential opponents (most notably Frampton and Santa Cruz) are afraid that the skill difference between themselves and Rigondeaux is too big to be overcome, and they would rather prefer to keep their records clean without having to fight the best and potentially get embarrassed. Their future paydays kind of depend on those records.

Difference is Rigo is boring people to death so no one cares about him. His last fight was literally one of the most boring bouts I've ever seen.

The difference is MW and Bantam. One is always going to receive more attention than the other.

Rigo got a lot of support here and everywhere else. But really there IS a small difference and it's that except for a couple of fighters, GGG is everyones biggest payday at MW. But like I said, small.

I didn't mean it like I agreed with it. I meant it like the casual and some hardcore boxing fans believed this should have been the case. They wanted him to move up to featherweight and fight Lomachenko and Walters. On the otherside some called for GGG to fight Ward and all hell broke loose.

GGG is the draw after WBC hostage takers Cotto and Canelo. He made the division HOT. I talk smack but who was talking about 160 before Golovkin?

The only concern from 135-154 was Floyd Mayweather and whoever he stood around. GGG made 160 a big division again. Rigondeaux is not exempt from total blame because he chooses to have the ****test management team on the planet.

I bet Haymon would have gotten him a fight with one of those guys.

The difference is GGG is exciting to watch and Rigo isn't.

Maybe, but does that matter? Should we be bias in who is more exciting?

Mayweather has always outsold Pacquiao in the PPV war, yet Manny is a more exciting fighter to watch. People still bought millions more of Mayweather PPVs and people claim that he is not exciting to watch.

Crawford is more exciting to watch than Adrien Broner, yet Broners viewership towers over Crawford and Golovkins when we talk numbers.

That should never be an excuse because there is always someone else that can outsell you.

Every event that Broner has been in since the Malinaggi fight has sold out completely. There are still tickets left to see GGG vs Wade. Hundreds of tickets.

Maybe it shouldn't matter but it does. In an ideal world, the top contenders should always face the champions and the best should always fight the best. When the fans don't really care about a fighter, for whatever reason, then the promoter's and the networks won't be inclined to force the issue.

As a fighter, Rigo is on a different planet to Gatti - but who would people rather watch? Ability alone isn't enough. Boxing is a sport but it's also entertainment.
