Mine was Mike Tyson Vs. Carl "The Truth" Williams. I was 10. I remember being totally mystified by how Tyson could take out such a big, in shape guy with his left hand. I was wildly impressed by that as a kid. Of course, I had no idea what a left hook was all about then. Later, I learned that Carl really liked to get smashed by left hooks. He didn't take them well, but he sure seemed to get hit by them a lot! Also, I didn't know at the time that Tyson is left handed, but that's really neither here nor there when it comes to a left hook, really.
    How about you guys...?

I've dithered on this as I have vague memories of my dad watching some really big fights, but I think the first one I really tuned into was Jim Watt losing to Arguello.Jim fought at the Kelvin Hall sometimes and I lived near there, but this one was in London I'm sure.
I was only around 8 at the time,so not sure how tuned in I was,but for some reason I have a memory of seeing Leonard-Duran 1,but most of these fights I remember were probably just on TV.I know the first time I really felt I was tuned into what was happening was Holmes-Spinks 1,but again,I have earlier memories.

Remember watching McCullogh win silver in the 92 Olympics, with Carruth winning gold the same year.

    First pro fight?.....Collins-Eubanks 1, I think

Tough one, I'm sure I could work my way back and keep remembering fights that were earlier than the one I thought was the first.

The one that stands out is Lewis vs Tyson. I wasn't really a Boxing fan then though, I'd say I became a Boxing fan when Hatton fought Tsyzu and I've been hooked ever since.

Muhammad Ali against Kenny Norton in the Yankee Std for the Hwt Championship.
I was six and the image was black and white, I remember Ali shouting "Norton must fall", I mean I remember him shouting but later I came to know what it was.
Anyway, it was much later that I started rec tapes of fights such as Bramble-Mancini and Hearns Leonard 1.

i remember watching Willie DeWitt and Shaw O'Sullivan in the Olympics, and the Lennox in the next games, but the first real fight I remember watching was Tyson vs Larry Holmes.

Tyson VS Bruno. The guy who ran our local pub taped it for my dad (even though he was there to watch it) so he could watch again. I was hooked on Tyson and boxing in general after that.
