In the heavyweight division, Holmes-Mercer. Larry basically won that by completely controlling the action from about the 4rth round onwards, against a younger, stronger, more powerful and fitter man.

Whitaker against Azumah Nelson. It's better than his display against Haugen as he used his feet more in this one. A very thorough and complete use of the full ring, with some stationary work for good measure.

This performance defines the meaning, ring generalship.

Already been a few shouts for Whitaker here so I'll add mine

For me, I watch Whitaker/JCC for some high level ring generalship.

Considering one of JCC's best assets was his footwork and ability to cut everything off, the way Whitaker was able to keep him turning and eating jabs non-stop was something I've always thought was something to behold.

He's had more flawless performances, but for the level of opposition here I have to give it a shout.

He was rather awesome against Sibson. I admire the way Hagler actually leaps in with the jabs when he's out of range.

Hagler v Hopkins in their primes.

    Yes, please......................
