He probably won 2 rounds. Most people give him as much. I think folks give him proper credit for managing to not get repeatedly hurt on his way to a wide loss after talking all that shjt for all those years.
It's not only about not getting "repeatedly hurt", it is about the manner in which the fight went on - Haye looked like Neo there at times. Also, the toe injury definitely had an effect on Haye's mobility and ability to pull the trigger.
Neo?!? What a joke that is... Good one! I'm not sure I've ever watched a fight where one fighter hit the canvas so many times (maybe the Baer/Carnera film) as Haye did against Wladimir. So if I give you the extreme that he looked like Neo at times, you've got to give me the extreme that he also looked like Primo Carnera at times.
I distinctly remember how Wlad's double and even triple jab would hit nothing but air a number of times throughout the fight. As a result, there is nothing extreme about saying that David looked like Neo at times. Haye's hitting the canvas, on the other hand, was obviously a part of Booth's [poor] strategy and had little to do with David's ability.
He'd wear them down with endless fight negotiations then deliver the knock out blow by pulling out of the fight at the last minute.
