Pacquiao's win over Rios or Mayweather over Maidana?

Rios is a total hype job. Not even a top 15 probably at 147. Hell even at 140 he was lucky to ever be ranked as high as he was. Wouldn't be ranked that high if he wasn't so exciting and get nods for the close fights he was in. Pac just needed something easy after having his chin cracked.

Maidana is a bit of a hype job. Probably not even a top 5 welter. But now since he smashed a total hypejob and had a good night against the #1 welter people think he is #5. But he is really like #7 or #8 (I think that might be too generous as well).

So to answer your question a win over Maidana is much better.

Pacquiao won by a wider margin over a slow predictable brawler.

While I think Maidana is better than Rios, I don't think there is that much in it, and a fight between the two would probably be settled by quite a narrow margin- nor do I think Maidana would get much more done against PacMan than Rios did.

So that being said, Pacquiao's shut out of Rios ranks slightly above Mayweather's close MD over Maidana.

This is basically the conundrum for me. I rank Maidana a bit higher than Rios, he's also more established at 147 and a titlest. But the Maidana fight was WAY closer. There wasn't 30 seconds that Rios won against Pacquiao.

Maidana actually has relevant wins at 140 and 147.

Floyds win was pretty controversial, but a much better quality fighter than Rios.

If you say that Mayweather's win against Maidana was impressive then you just have to watch another sport.....

Rios only notable win was against Alvarado then he lost the rematch
Maidana is a much better win, it's not even close.

Pac dominated Rios for 12 rounds.
    Mayweather barely beat Maidana.

That being said, Maidana is a class above Rios, who is essentially a punching bag with a fantastic chin and a solid punch.

I'd LOVE to see that fight. We NEED to see that fight. Non stop action, every second of every round. No way would it go to the cards.

Rios wins in a late round stoppage,,... Their trainer would probably agree with me..

Rios is a journeyman at best. Utter hypejob and a bum.

Floyd's win over Maidana is miles better. Saying that, Maidana isn't that great either.

I dunno, Maidana has actually taken Garcia's advice and improved as a fighter, whereas "Bam Bam" just plods and plods and plods.

Maidana is a better fighter than Rios but not amazingly so. Pacquiao white-washed Rios while Floyd eeked out the win against Maidana. I'd call it even.
