Yeah, viewing it from the other angle, it has an "old man alone in a fishing boat against the storm" kind of thing going.

Leonard-Hearns 1 for me. Just all the momentum changes and Leonard starting out as the boxer and Hearns the puncher and than to see their roles reversed from the 6th round on. Great fight between to legends. It was also the first PPV I ever saw. It was on on tv television
if anyone is old enough to remember that?

That list is obsessive and misleading. It counts every clinch, lean, or attempt to control the head as a separate foul, as if boxing is ballet and not a brutal sport where positioning is everything. Yes, Wladimir Klitschko clinched often, that was the game plan. Povetkin is a short, explosive infighter. Wlad neutralized that by smothering him every time he got close.

Luis Pabon, the actual authority in the ring, didn’t deduct points until after repeated infractions, and even then only one point. That means Klitschko's approach was largely within the bounds of what’s tolerated, especially in the heavyweight division, where clinching is a common strategy. Ali did it, Lennox did it, Fury does it etc. It’s not pretty, but it’s effective and most of the time refs are fine with it.

The Reddit guy listing “132 fouls” is basically counting each clinch as a crime while ignoring context, rule tolerance, and the fact that Povetkin’s team knew this might happen and had no answer for it. If it was so blatantly illegal, why didn’t they appeal the result or call for a rematch? Simple because Klitschko dominated fair and square, using his tools and size legally under the enforcement level the referee set.

Theres no need to rely on a Reddit when someone compiled every illegal clinch on video.

    This content is protected

    A performance 100% worthy of disqualification .
If he had to cheat so obsessively against an ordinary guy like povetkin.. imagine how hopeless he would be against the likes of Mike Tyson, holy field and god forbid riddick bowe :eeek:

Chavez vs Taylor. There's just something so inspiring about seeing a young lion daring to be great against a legend of the sport that was near unbeatable at that time. Even with the dramatic and controversial ending, you can't deny the speed, skills, and heart of Meldrick that night.
