The Molina-Kirkland one was pretty unlucky on Molina's part too.

A real odd one was Virgil Hill against Adolpho Washington. I believe Washington was cut and somewhere around the 10th or 11th round between rounds the TV camera moves in to get a better look at the eye and they actually rammed the camera lens into his already damaged eye and the fight had to be stopped immediately.

Also, the first Mando Ramos-Pedro Carrasco fight, which was being reffed by a complete novice. Ramos was kicking the **** out of Carrasco and the ref found some BS reason to DQ Ramos.

They weren't really confusing but the most BS endings I remember are Luis Santana and Juan Coggi being taken out of the ring on stretchers after faking injury so they could win by DQ after being hit with accidental headbutts by vastly superior Terry Norris and Frankie Randall, respectively, in fights they had zero chance of winning any other way.

yeah Meekins was the one who got kod as the ref was saving the other guy, so they gave the win to Meekins because they deemed the ref. had already stopped the fight. But, I can't remember the name of the guy who "kod" Meekins. I saw that fight live on espn, must have been around 1987

And then Coggi's family celebrating in the ring as he was carried off on a stretcher. Pretty obvious that they knew exactly what was going on, because I don't think most people would be so unconcerned if their spouse or dad was being rushed to a hospital after a fight with Frankie Randall.

michael ayers and wayne rigby is worth a mention. From what i can recall both guys kinda stopped fighting in mutual decision since the ref wasnt gonna stop it.

prince charles williams v merqui sosa was another strange ending when lipton just stopped the fight in the 7th and awarded a draw

In one of the best fights I've ever seen Danny Lopez appeared to stop Mike Ayala twice. Once in the 11th and again in the 15th

Yer that sucked, as did Dawson-Hopkins, especially considering Dawson was announced the winner before later being ruled a no contest.

Funny thing is I saw enough in that one and a half rounds of Hopkins v Dawson to convince me I didn't want see a rematch. Unfortunately...they did one.

Al, I know what you mean about this one. This was another one of Carlos Padilla's confused stoppages - did he ever look like he was anything else but confused in that ring? - Padilla counted out Ayala in the 11th, sends them back to their corners then confers with the timekeeper and then he restarts the fight after everyone and his brother invades the ring. What amazes me is how he always got the plumb assignment.
