I'm thinking of total domination of what should have been a superior fighter.

"ever" is going to be very hard to settle on. its tough to say that someone who gets totally dominated (as opposed to losing a hard fought decision, ect) was a superior fighter...

what bhop did to my boy and to tito and what winky did to tito are pretty impressive considering the quality of the guys in there. a lot of people had the loser of those fights heavily favored and they lost horribly.

    Other than Tyson-Douglas,
Mosley-Margarito was a shocker for some...
Pacquiao-DeLaHoya was a big shocker at the time
    Ali-Foreman

douglas looke superb against tyson...as good as he has ever looked...but i wouldnt go so far to say he totally dominated the fight. it took a lot of heart for buster to get up after that uppercut.

It wasn't domination over a much superior fighter but Duran was seriously awesome against Iran considering all the circumstances. Certainly one of the better performances I've ever seen, but when we're taking into account domination, then I'd nominate Jones vs Toney, Ali vs Liston I, Foreman vs Frazier I, Gomez vs Zarate, etc.

I agree it wasn't domination, but I think it was "what should have been a superior fighter" since he was a hard-punching *middleweight* champion against a blown-up ageing natural lightweight. Natural lightweights aren't supposed to be able to hang with middleweights. But it was a close fight so I wouldn't include it.

By superior I don't just mean skill or P4P ability, I also mean size, power etc. So dominating someone 1-2 old divisions above would score highly. A 40 year old beating a great 25 year old would score highly etc. Basically fights that the winner has no real business winning.

But we should probably rule out flukes. Benn vs G Man comes to mind, spare the controversy, no doubt in my mind that Benn was supposed to lose that fight.

IMO Greb vs Tunney I has a strong claim to be the best ever performance.

Hmm. If you are judging on heart, comeback etc then you'd get a different set of fights. Gman and Benn were in the same division, similar skills & power. And Nigel almost lost in the first round (arguably should have done as he was helped back into the ring).

Which makes it even more extrodinary that he won.

Pacquiao vs Barrera I as much as it pains me to say it. Manny was moving up, Barrera had established himself as the leading guy with wins over Hamed, Morales, and Tapia.

...Was complete domination over a top 4 PP4 entrant.

    ...I'm crying now.

I don't know that it qualifies for a most impressive, but a fight I just rewatched was Whitaker-Nelson. I remember believing before the fight that Whitaker would win, but was hoping against hope that ZUMAH could find a way to pull this out. But it never happened. Now I know this was not Nelson's optimum weight, but Whitaker dismantled Nelson in a way that no one had...and probably very few could. Whitaker made Nelson look slow and amaturish at times, Nelsons hook looked like slow motion against Pea. Maybe not most impressive, but impressive nonetheless.

Got banned and deleted when some friends thought it would be a good idea to post some gay porn on the forum.I was out for a while and had left the pc with the classic forum page open.

Came back about an hour later and there it was, posted right in the middle of some Tyson debate or something.I'd been banned by then, but was able to tell Greg about it over at the wbva and he spoke to a mod.

Mayweather Corrales was a shocker if you followed their careers at that time.
