Hey ZOMBIE:lol: The thread starter asked for IMPRESSIVE:deal

When Leonard was having the **** beat out of him & having his **** ****ed by duran's glove "Where were you" & what were you doing when all of fistic christendom's church bells rang in unison to celebrate that most glorious feat of boxing history making.

Hiding under yer mums skirt while she peeled spuds at the kitchin sink waiting for the lodger to finish his bin round or still swimming around the lodgers sack:lol:

But it depends on the level of fighters involved.

Crushing some unskilled part-timer might not be as impressive as a tough fight against an equally skilled very good foe for instance.

Anyway if with talking about two A level fighters in what was meant to be a pick em kinda of fight going in but turned out to be a onesided fight, well there's only one answer as far I'm concerned and thats,

Pernell Whitaker's performance against Julio Cesar Chavez
Whitaker controlled every second of this fight he outboxed and even outfought Chavez on the inside a perfect performance.

But I believe the greatest performance ever captured on film is Sugar Ray Robinson against Jake LaMotta IV, but thats was very competive for the first half and was'nt onesided until later on in the fight,

Also surprised Ali vs. Cleveland Williams hasn't been mentioned.

No. If you consider all he circumstances of he second fight, the pressuroe on Schmeling, the fact he couldn't train pobably in the states, the fact he couldn't sleep properly, the hostile crowd who not only booed him but threw about everything at him when he went to the ring I think the first fight is more to what would really happen than the second one.

Armstrong-Ross should take the cake. Wonder why nobody even mentioned it until now :admin

I don't think thats as impressive I people make out because Robinson was 36 going on 37 had had 147 fights and was well past his prime, no disrespect to Basilio who is a great fighter,

:patsch It most definitely was not. If you had watched Mayweather dismantle Hernandez and Manfredy, then Floyd outboxing Corrales really wouldn't have been a very big surprise. If I recall rightly, Corrales was p4p#5 at the time and Mayweather was #7 - I don't think that constitutes the most impressive fight performance in boxing history. Do you? Of course you do.

Duran-Leonard I, Greb-Tunney I, Frazier-Ali I. All convincing wins over ATG opponents who were fancied to win.

DOMINATION over a SUPERIOR fighter ?

    Tyson-Douglas has to rank high.

    Honeyghan/Curry
Hopkins/Trinidad. Trinidad was supposed to win so he could fight Jones but it didn't happen like that at all.
Holyfield/Tyson 1. Tyson had his moments but Holy just controlled the fight using his head.(No pun intended)

Ive never viewed Greb-Tunney I but the other 2 were very close fights, a million miles away from a domination.

(I know you never said dominate, the TS asked for that tho)

Fair enough, if the guy asked for dominations then these choices aren't what he was after, but he should probably change the thread-title then. A performance doesn't have to be dominant to be boundlessly brilliant. Duran and Frazier were on those nights. It's difficult to dominate a determined ATG.

Bodhi had an excellant shout on Armstrong vs Ross - a complete domination of another ATG it gets my vote.
