Oscar may have fought like he was weight-drained, but he didn't look it at all. Usually a fighter looks emaciated when they have drained a lot, but I thought Oscar looked fit and strong. This content is protected
If you're talking about fighters that fought like they were weight-drained, I nominate Diego Corrales for his display against Floyd Mayweather. Corrales fought like a zombie that had his feet in quicksand. Lazily plodding forward, not even throwing a jab, not even fighting with an intensity that could put Floyd under any sort of pressure. No fire, no desire, no energy, no Chico.
You're a perfect example of many on these forums who thinks fighters looks great when they clearly are weight drained just because their bodies are defined. The same people complain when fighters who doesn't need to cut weight, usually heavyweights, looks a little chunky on the weigh-in. A lot of them are overweight of course, but V.Klitschko certainly isn't and he got those comments before his last fight.
I don't really see the relevance of your heavyweight comment, but I still think Oscar doesn't look drained, he looks healthy. If you look at the Wayne McCullough picture someone posted earlier on this thread, you will see what someone who is severely drained looks like.
I commented on the heavyweights just to point out that you don't need to have a super-defined body to be in great shape. And McCullogh definitely looks more drained than Oscar who I don't think looks good at that picture. But hey! We all have different opinions.
Manny wanted the **** out of there, fight was in hostile territory, no title on the line because of the weight, weight drained. Packed it in I think.
Jimmy Ellis was suggested to be weight drained and over trained at 189 for Ali in 1971. But boxWRECK indicates he was back at that weight for his knockout of Ollie Wilson just over a year later. (Might the last two numbers of his reported weight have been erroneously reversed?) Leon Spinks at 190 for Qawi was horrid, and he weighed over 20 pounds more for his bouts immediately preceding and following Qawi. 190 was four pounds under his next lowest professional weight, the unimpressive draw with LeDoux at 194.
Sandoval again Gabie Canizales has been mentioned but its important to remember the guy was in a como for three days after getting knocked out because his head trauma was axacerbated by severe dehydration.
