Whats the most you have seen a fighter rehydrate on fight night recently?

    Nope they dont starve. That is an amateurs mistake - you actually lose weight fastest by still eating. If you starve your body shuts down many functions to save energy. If they starve they would have no energy at all for the fight.

    Normally they do a big carb burn before weigh in and a big carb load after it. On top of that they restict sodium intake heavily before weigh in to expel water from the body then replace the salts and water pre fight.

    Try eating zero salt for 2 or 3 days, but a normal number of calories and see how much weight you drop. You will be surprised. And all that weight will be in water which can be easily reabsorbed over the day between weighin and fight.

    Mayorga supposedly put on 18 lbs with de la Hoya,from 154 to 172.
    Clottey went from 149 to 170 with Corrales,21 lbs
    Gatti went from 141 to 159 with Gamache,18 lbs
    Williams was 164 with Quintana I at 147,17 lbs
    Cotto went from 140 to 157 with Corley,17 lbs
    Toney went from 167 to 184 with Jones Jr.,17 lbs

    i was told to suck lemons the night before a weigh in, **** knows why...
    always made weight though... well nearly always.
    That was when we weighed in the day of the fight, the 24hrs prior weigh in was only introduced about 12 yrs ago. giving fighters far more time to rehydrate.

    Supposedly LaMotta was 176 lbs entering the ring for the St. Valentine's Day massacre.
