Every time there's a p4p list in the general forum there's always at least one poster complaining about how p4p lists are a meaningless and modern fad. Not saying I disagree or agree, that's not the point of the thread. However these types of comments made me curious, what's the oldest recorded p4p list of fighters who were active at the time of the list? Do we know of any p4p lists made during the really old eras like 1880-1910? Maybe even from the bare knuckle period?

    Thanks in advance.

That's cool and all but I put "that we know of" for a reason. I want to be able to see the actual list.

Pardon my ignorance of that era but wouldn't a 1720 top 10 p4p list just be

    1. James Figg
    2. everyone else.

    Still a list tho ain't it? :sisi1

I have seen a few P4P lists of fighters from the 1880s and onwards, but not really prior to that. I know there were comparisons between eras though, example would be how Mendoza era fighters saw themselves as more technically advanced than Broughton era fighters. I'm sure they had lists back then, but it would take quite a bit of digging to find it.
