Wilder had very little amateur experience going into the Olympics and was incredibly raw even when he won a medal. Hes very limited. Hes the one prospect out there who I don't think is being moved too slowly.

i dont buy the crap about him not being all that experienced...he made the olympic team...he won a medal in THE OLYMPICS....**** or get off the pot....people are give helinus incredible amounts of **** for winning against former belt holders,,,while deontay feasts on corpses....he has 3 years amateur experience, (world amateur experience)....and now 3 years as a pro....if you cant fight a guy in the a little better than ranked 266 in the world in your 18th fight....going slow is one thing..but not moving is another

hmm, your argument doesn't make any sense. All your saying is that when he steps up his competition, he'll be knocked out silly either sooner (if he steps it up now) or later (if he keeps fighting cans and then steps it up).

Wilder is not ready. Therefore he will fight a few more "cans", where each can is slightly better than the last. Eventually he'll fight a contender.

Well, it could also be that maybe he doesn't want to step up. Hes probably getting a better payday fighting cans than hes seen in his whole life. He has a sick daughter that hes looking out for.

He'll be getting decent sparring and training in his camps. That will do him a world of good and the bums will just keep him ticking over.

Another possibility is- Would you be looking to step up with the Klitschkos at the top of the food chain?

right, but are you saying if he fought someone decent sooner he'd be better off? Or are you saying, either way, he gets knocked out?

I would think his chances of being knocked out by a contender would be less if he takes slower route and allows his body to fill out, rather than an accelerated route. That's the conventional wisdom, anyway, and that is exactly why fighters are often brought up "slowly".

You guys can be so thick. Here are the reasons
    1. Gain experience
    2. Grow into a heavyweight fighting weight, look at his weight it is going up every fight. He needs to be around 240lbs for his height minimum. He started at 207 now he is about 220. He needs 20-30 lbs more muscle, while still being active.
    3. Hype, they need to hype this guy so he can become a name and earn some $$
    4. Becoming a consummate professional requires training and consistency he is getting that.

He needs about 2 more years of guys around the damon reed level and then strp up very slowly to a dominick guinn, sprott kind of level and then you will see if this guy will actually challenge for a title.

Right now I think he is being managed perfectly.

I dont know about getting managed perfectly but i agree. He should fight some guys that dont get KO´d so easy or he should just take his time.
To me these fights seem just a way to stay busy while learning the craft. No need to rush him when apparently a can was able to hurt him bad and but him down.

He needs to be fighting durable journeyman at this point. They're trying to market him as an unstoppable KO machine, and it's terrible for Wilder. I almost understand his opposition level, but not the way he is matched against fighters that have been stopped so often.
