Setting aside tragides, what's the saddest thing you've seen in boxing? Whether it's your favourite fighter being pummled, a robbery etc. (It might not be sad to everyone, just personal to you.)

For me, Amir Khan v MAB is right up there.

The way they took advantage of a legend & warrior like MAB still riles me today. The cut was no worse in the 1st round, then it was when they eventually stopped it.

They made sure it went 4 rounds before quickly halting it so Khan could get the win.

It was all about money & greed. It was pure exploitation which MAB didn't deserve.

Ali v Holmes is another one. (sadder in fact)

    Thoughts?

Tyson V Lewis, just watching Tyson with no hope of winning getting used as a punchbag.

Recently? During the post fight interview of the Marquez/Katsidis bout. When Larry was interviewing Katsidis.. and Katsidis was honoring his dead brother and tearing up.. I almost cried manly tears.

Personally, I always find it sad when the fighter despite trying his best gets shut out, beaten terribly and has to be pulled out of the fight, for example: Gatti-Mayweather, Pirog-Martirosyan or Sylvester-Proksa, they just looked absolutely crushed. Couldn't help but feel sorry for them despite rooting for the other guy.

Maybe someone can help me with this. ESPN Friday Night Fights a couple years back I think. There was a segment on a fighter talking about some hardship in his life or death in his family or something, and he was crying in the pre-fight segment. Then he fought and got KO'd. It was a black fighter. I don't remember who or what division. That was pretty damn sad.
