teddy atlas can be over dramatic, "what do you want to with your life", when moore fought holyfield he was just all over him saying he can't sit on the stool, "do you want me to fight for you?", "your'e going to cry tomorow when you realize what your'e blowing", "there comes a point in a man's life when they have to make choices"
''Pop the jab baby!C'mon baby, work'em downstairs. Here have some water baby!...You ain't doing it baby,I'm pulling the plug'' Yeah you guessed it.
Jack Loew telling Pavlik to DOUBLE THE FAKIN JAB over and over round after round. Then having the assistant tell him 'Its ok you're just losing a fight, not your championship'. wow
HUGELY underrated!! What he and his fighters achieved (working from that manky little shed, no offence Enzo!) was nothing short of miraculous!! I had heard that Enzo had retired, is this the case? It would be sorrowful if this terrific trainer and great character was no longer involved in boxing!!
[QUOTE =]Jack Loew telling Pavlik to DOUBLE THE FAKIN JAB over and over round after round. Then having the assistant tell him 'Its ok you're just losing a fight, not your championship'. wow QUOTE] the last line really stood out. your'e losing a fight not the championship. well apparently, just losing the fight has turned his life upside down, and he won't fight anyone that has a chance of beating him. the line that stood out in the cotto-pac fight was in the 12th round, they said stick to the game plan. and apparently someone else noticed they had no ice in the corner. first of all the fight should have been stopped a lot earlier than the 12th.
Wtf kind of between rounds advice is that?? I watched the Pavlik-Hopkins fight live in the U.K and it was late. I missed the "It's okay you're just losing the fight, not your championship" craic!! Not that the other advice was sage-like but Jesus!!!! Just for that comment alone those guys gets my vote!!!! The damage that fight (it was okay to lose!!) has done to Kelly and his career is obvious!!! He can't STILL be with those guys, surely?
:roflThat's awesome. Emanuel Steward is usually good but I remember when he kept bitching at his fighter about punching with power. Told him he was fighting like he had no pride or dignity and finally told his fighter that he was going to go get a drink or something.
I swerved the Ruiz fight, so I missed that guy!! He sounds a lot of fun!! If Ruiz fights David Haye, then i'm guessing Baldy (Thanks to David's mouth!) will reach his full potential!!
