about boxing in your opinion? I know this thread has been done before, but so has every other one Anyways, what do you think is the worst thing about boxing. Is it the sanctioning bodies? Too many weightclasses? Crap/too many PPV's? Padded records for "champions"? Backstage politics? What's the worst:fire In my own opinion, it'd have to be that we have at least 4 too many weightclasses.
to me, the worst is not the weighclasses or the way the "sport" is promoted, but the fact that the best out there don't always fight, the fact that the great and the good don't take on the hungry up and coming dangerous challengers, but prefer to polish off another has-been NAME, and that too many fighters are built-up artificially, and don't dare to be great by risking a loss in order to learn and put their best performace yet in.
Bad decisions. Nothing is worse than knowing that some poor sap trained so hard and fought his heart out only to be robbed. Also boring fights.
I don't think that they are more boring now than they were before. Boring fights aren't all that common but whenever one comes on, it gives fans of other sports fuel in their arguments that boxing sucks
Problem then is there aren't enough fights, because, frankly, even if 2/3rds of fights are boring, but we have 3 high-quality exciting fights every week, no one would care, right?
Do you reckon there was a time when there WASN'T a capitalist, anti-european American boxing media conspiracy? Because if there wasn't...well...that's just pro boxing for you!
