Haye could literally take a **** in Wlads mouth at the next press conference, knock wlad out and still win sports personality of the year.

what has Haye done thats really that bad. Won't shake his hand and calls his opponents bums.

I don't see much "moral outrage".

I just see people saying he's a dick and saying he's talking crap. Both of which are true.

    :rofl:patsch

    That's laughable.

I don't know anyone that thinks Mayweather is cool, apart from yourself.... who still clings onto the fact that he's an active fighter, when he's been anything but for years.

As for Haye, when he first started talking smack it was kinda funny, but the joke is seriously old now.... three years later - and given his boasts about doing this, that and the other he's not done a right lot.

Sure, he's probably learned the value of the trinket and what can be made, but let's not get away from the fact that his HW career is average at best.

Because I disagree with you and find all this crap unnecessary you've gone and accused me of being out of touch with young people

I'll raise you and accuse you of being out of touch with reality and suffering from a severe dose of delusion and narrow mindedness.

This is a fight that pretty much sells itself, maybe Haye is just an insecure chap who needs attention, I don't know.

10 pages on a bit of trash talking to sell a fight? I guess on a positive note you could say its working, people are talking about it....and it doesn't matter whether they are paying to see you win or paying to see you lose, just as long they are paying.

Haye couldn't care less about the PR battle.

He is solely occupied by getting inside Wlad's head.

Sorry to snip Beeston but I knew someone would trot this line out and its never, ever been the case that fights that sell themselves don't get promoted or have antagonism/ ill will between the fighters.

There have been plenty of fights that sold themselves that didn't stop the press conferences, the tours, the interviews, the trash talking etc.

I didn't say Mayweather was cool anywhere but to young people...but he is. He has the rapper persona and people eat it up. His style of fighting is deemed boring by most but he still gets over a million people in the US paying $60 to watch him fight. He had a few thousand people show up in London 2 years ago just to watch him train. But he is a PR disaster because he ducks Pacquiao. If he comes back he could fight you and still get a million people paying to watch.

You are out of touch with young people and the fact you used your Granddad as an example of what people think of Haye just proves it.

If you think Haye is funny and "cool" you pay to watch the fight and cheer for him. If you think he is a twat you pay to watch the fight to see him get sparked. Either way there is still £5 going in Hayes sky rocket whether you like him or don't.

    Absolutely. :good

I think another part of the talk surrounding Haye's talk is that many Brits find it embarrassing because they believe Haye's likely to get KTFO !

That's the problem. If Lennox Lewis was doing it, we'd all be like, "****in' hell ! Lewis is pissed off ! He's gonna kill this guy !" ....... with Haye it's more like some mouthy kid brother who's going to embarrass us by talking us into a beating.
I admire confidence, but some of these statements Haye will never live down if he gets beaten. It will be like Naseem Hamed.

For maximizing the payday it's absolutely in Haye's interests to talk like this. But for how he will be remembered after he gets beat, it's going to come back to haunt him. He'll be seen as a joke.

Who gives a ****. Haye has a job to do and that is to KO Wlad and take his titles, oh and earn a **** load of money. The time for nice is over. He's got his head down and is training like an animal. He's probably ready to be taken off the leash right now. Ain't no surprise he doesn't wanna do nice. Nice will only get you so far.

Ya'll musta forgot, when Rocky was out kissing random broads during training camp and livin it up large, Clubber Lang was as hungry as ****, and wanted it bad lived and breathed boxing. We all know how that **** went down :D. Let Wlad go do his kissy kissy **** with tv presenters. All of that will come to nothing when they step foot in the ring, and prepare for battle. No one else will be in there apart from you and the other guy and a ref. The man who has the hunger, the killer instict, the ring smarts and have done their best in training camp, will be the man that prevails.

All the rest is just bull crap!!

Yeah, you're right Gaz.... and to be honest I don't mind a bit of promotion and needle between the two fighters.

But in this case you've got one man doing the usual good guy act and the other being a fake/annoying baddie in addition to being a Kerry Katona level media *****.

I'll just be honest and admit that my dislike for the man clouds my judgement and makes me more critical of him than I would usually be - say for Froch bleating on about beating Kessler for instance.

But then again it's Haye's actions over the past year that have made me dislike him. It wasn't as if I just heard him speak one day and thought ''you're a twat'' or found his earlier fights boring to watch and came about it that way.

respect for the honesty BB. I get why your so down on Haye. I was the same before the Harrison fight.

But thats done and dusted now. At the end of the day he is a guy from a South London council estate who got the opportunity to make £10milllion in a **** easy fight.

If Froch, Gatti, Duran and every other warrior was given that opportunity they would have taken it to.

Hit the nail on the head there. Most trashtalkers need to obnoxious to cover up for their unexciting fighting style and get people interested in the fight.

Often the exciting warrior types eg Pac Kastidis, our own Jamie Moore - are friendly and respectful with their opponents - they don't need to put on an act.

You've just taken one example and jumped to an almighty conclusion.

''Because my grandad thinks David Haye is a clown and I agree I'm out of touch with young people''

    :patsch

I could cite any number of examples where people have said to me that David Haye is an idiot, I just posted the most recent occurence.

There you go again posting TV deals as if you're an insider :yep:nut

To be honest I don't really care what some numbnut Americans think, most of them have **** for brains anyhow. I just happen to disagree with you about Floyd Mayweather and David Haye being knobheads and you've started throwing accusations around at me

As you say, he's selling the fight. As far as being seen a joke if he loses then that boat set sail a couple a years ago with all the insults, t-shirts etc...I don't think a bit more trash talk sell the fight is going to make it that much worse TBH.

What ever the pre-fight bollocks, Hayes HW career is defined by this fight, if he loses its a joke and a bit of pre-fight trash talking is neither here nor there in the greater scheme of things.
