    This is all true.

I think Wladimir will be that man to prevail though. The "nice guy" **** stops when he's in that ring, we all know that. He's just a robot.

I dont think thats really true, plenty of entertaining fighters who trash talked and did silly things to promote fights as there are the other way around

and it undoubtedly adds something to fights, like id like to see pacquaio against somebody he does hate itd be interesting

benn vs eubank would still have been a great fight, but with all the build up and the hatred between the 2 it added something to it

Fair enough BB, at least you are honest enough to admit you may have lost a bit of perspective on Haye and don't always treat him as you would other fighters.

I've never seen the big deal, we waited a year as frequently happens in boxing while a new title holder racked up some money with a couple of less-than-top-notch defences and now we have the unification fight we wanted??

And don't give me that "But Haye said he was going to...." line because when people use that it reminds me of a girl who's just got come in her mouth "but you said you'd take it out before you....";)

    No doubt.

Haye doesn't mind being hated as long as he is getting paid. Its that new Mayweather-nitis illness. Fight **** opponents, put on **** fights but get paid like a mo fo.

I agree. He's not going to tone it down, he's been at it for a couple of years.
It's make or break with this one fight.
I do understand why many Brits want to distance themselves from him though

Don't you think his lack of impressive HW credentials is almost enough to say he's got very little chance to win this fight ?
He seems to be getting a lot of backers simply on what he says he can do. What he's actually done is not enough to raise his chances against Wlad.
Then again, some people here ended up believing in Audley Harrison's chances against Haye !

I wouldn't see the big deal usually (barring the constant BS)..... but it was Audley f**king Harrison.

I mean, it's as low as you can possibly stoop. A bordering on mentally ill man who has been frightened into doing nothing by ATG's such as a shot Danny Williams, a 39 year old taxi driver in Rogan and Michael Sprott

I'd have probably given him more credit if he'd have fought Evander Holyfield, at least he's got a decent chin and would throw a punch :think

As for the ''said he was going to.....'' - you simply cannot spout as much crap as he does and not expect to get pulled up when you do the opposite.

Not that I expect him to say ''I want to make as much money as possible by fighting as many gimmicky opponents as possible and get out without fighting anyone good'' of course ;)

Though a bit of honesty would be nice :good

Easy money for Harrison, mate. Makes a Wlad loss a lot easlier to live with 20 years down the line....

"A bit of honesty"? We're talking professional boxing.....;O)

When you look at it in the cold light of day, a 2008 - '10 Holyfield is as good as anyone Haye's ever beaten at heavyweight.

Haye's best HW scalp is a duplicate of what a 46 year old Holyfield did a year earlier.

    These are the cold facts.

To be fair there wern't many. It was bad enough that some people thought that Harrison would even be competitive, let alone win the fight!!

I don't think Haye acting like a cawk is the best for selling the fight but I don't think he has much choice
He can't pull the saviour of the division angle that he did 2 years ago because of the fights he has taken and the fact he is saying he is retiring this year.
