Pac will throw a jab and move to his right and then throw his left cross, the left hand is then coming from the 'wrong' side, and his left goes around the side of his opponents left, and its almost impossible to stop. It seems you need great footwork, timing and speed obviously. And it only works against a right hander if youre a lefty, and a Southpaw if you're a right hander, otherwise you're moving directly into the line of his power hand. Is there a name for this nifty little move? :think
Interesting you say that. I was rewatching some tape and noticed the lateral movement and that same shot. Its a very good shot to throw as its almost impossible to counter. Young Tyson used to throw a similar shot from a southpaw stance in his earlier fights. Not sure if theres a name for it though.
I'm a southpaw, and when I was fighting I used something similair, with great success. I would step in with my jab, so my right foot was landing just before my jab, as soon as my foot landed I would bounce slightly to my right to create the angle for my straight left, which would land at the same time as my right foot; I would usually land this and pivot away and out of range. To mix it up, I would also feint with the left and throw the right hook off the jab. Both techniques used to work a treat.
It is pretty much southpaw fighting 101, its just that most don't have the speed to pull it off like pac does.
