Freitas wasn't unknown, he was the WBO champ, although Jones did not lose the title previously in the ring. Jones was handy and had Freitas down in that fight. A shame that he had to fight Freitas, he could have had a decent run if it wasn't for him (Freitas)
In the limited clips I've seen of him he didn't look that great. Against Khan he looked pretty hot though - or was khan perhaps that bad. That punch came from half way behind his back.
