he wasn't the best at 122...rigondeaux was. so he moves up to 126 to try and prove he's the best there and needs all the help he can get. smh.

Rigo became the man at 122 by beating Donaire as far as styles most of my favorite current fighters are boxers not brawlers but keeping it real Rigo is a runner tag and run. No disrespect to him if your a fan that's your priority but I call it like I see it. To me there is a difference between playing defense and out and out running and Rigo is a runner imo Rigo makes Wlad look like Pacquiao.

When I watch them in groups I can see them looking "down" on others or watch when a non Filipino walks up to a group you could tell they are talking about the person walking up then quickly change to a fake hospitable mood with them, very strange their attitudes in groups, they are not like that individually. If I don't know the Filipino, I don't like them, if I do know them I do like them, weird.

He's a Filo and that's a plus that's cool. But he has an annoying American accent. Plus his American style. He had the kid hurt but refuses to bomb him he is not very aggressive. How could he finish Mathebula or Vetyeka without a fuselage of punches. He cracked Mathebula's jaw and just watch him. He's a primadona and whinger like the people in estados unidos.

He lost to the more aesthetically and technically pleasing boxer in Rigo, yet gets wider exposure, more money etc. I almost feel bad for Rigo. It's almost as if in my head a torch should have been passed to Rigondeaux as he staked his claim in the pound for pound standings, but because boxing is driven by business, it hasn't quite happened the way it should have.

I don't dislike Donaire, he's a very good fighter. but he's going to go into a stage of his career where he carries on fighting B and C level fighters, picking up paper belts in more divisions. I just feel if he goes up against another A level fighter, he'd lose ... Even with a decent stylistic advantage.

Rigo may have been all wrong for him, but he was a 1 trick pony all night long. He had a chance to try and adapt his game and find a way to win, but after a few rounds his confidence went and it was almost like he didn't believe he could win.

Looking at it from a very critical point of view, it's hard to agree with Lampley, Kellerman etc calling him a great fighter if he was so soundly beaten by someone from the same era. Consider Rigondeaux is older and smaller, yet Nonito barely won a round apart from the one he scored a knockdown in.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh, but that's my two cents. I also don't find him that exciting to watch either

If Rigo wants to be a star, he has to fight.

That's all there is to it.

You fight you take a risk.

Higher risk, higher reward.

Rigo doesn't want to take the risk, so he doesn't get the reward.

That's how life works.

Nothing is for free. If Rigo wants to win the fans, he has to go out there and win fans.

Getting banned from HBO did him no favors.
