Ive watched the fight twice now, live on sky and then repeat in the cold light of day, and I really dont think it was that bad a performance. Not once, was Wladimir in complete control of the fight. I thought Wlad was excellent BTW, but never not once did he have Haye hangin on, in any real trouble, or looking like he was about to go. I said all along, Haye would try to keep the exchanges to a minimum, make Klitschko come to him, and try to use fast punches to pot shot, make Wlad miss a lot, and then when the opportunity arose through a mistake, test Wlads punch resistance. He made Wlad miss a lot, made Wlad look visably tired(I had money on Wlad so that worried me, and landed the two most telling punches in the fight. Wlad they way he always does, controlled distance well, and his jab as always was key. His excuses were embarassing, pathetic evenm but I dont think Hayes performance was worthy of the hiding he's getting on here.
This crap has been going on for 2 years, that's 2 years of accumulated anger Haye has caused K Bro fans, now he's been convincingly beaten. No surprise about the hate he's getting. It would have gone the other way with Haye fans had Haye won.
his performance wasnt worthy of the "promotion" he did for the fight. He was more like fightin scared, rather than what he kept on saying to promote the fight. I think its the lack of effort that people are hating on...
after all that talk for 2 years haye was always going to get hated on unless he made the fight close or atleast dropped wlad.
:good I agree, i enjoyed it, full of tension, but what else did you expect from the yanks:huh There always winging & whining & always have been full of shite AFTER THE EVENT. Their a 2nd rate boxing nation as far as heavyweights go & just serve up big fat *******s for wlad to lunch on. But i think that everyone feels more than a bit let down in the UK after all of Haye's gob & all:-(
I agree about the 12 rounds of boxing to a point, defencivly Haye did very well but offensively he was shockin, his plan A didnt work so he resorted to many more rounds of plan A. Dunno what plan B was but it never matierised and neither did everybodys plan C which is **** it go for it. But you talk as much as he talked for 2 years your guna have to come up with the goods, or atleast be shown to try alot harder than he did.
It's easy to see why people are talking **** after all the **** talking he did, then to just seemingly not perform. But I credit Wlad for this, I think Haye tried, then realized it is much harder than it looks to beat Wlad. And by his own mouth signed himself up as just another bum and fat pudding that Wlad has beat. I think he knows now that this isn't the case, but rather in the ring Wlad is just superior in almost every way, except perhaps speed. He got a big helping of humble pie, and he deserved it.
I'll tell you what it is. Here in the UK, most of us, not all of us, prefer a humble loser than a confident or brash Winner! That's what it is & it does my fcuking nut in! People loved Frank Bruno because he was a loser & was humble with it. If he would have said things such as: "I'm the best out there, no one can beat me", etc, people wouldn't have liked him as much! People love to Criticise when someone loses, & they're actually Jealous when the same person Wins or is Winning. Its a fickle thing in this country.
Mainly bitter Yanks whos own heavyweights couldn`t do 2 rounds with a revolving door. They`ve got nothing to shout about so slag someone else off. They`re the biggest bunch of saddos on here.
The dude blamed his loss on a 3 week old pinky toe injury. That's one of the most shameless things I've ever seen in boxing, and I've seen a lot of shameless **** over the years. It's just impossible to take him seriously after that.
Well, it depends on how you measure his performence. In absolute terms he did quite good; he was the best opponent Wlad faced since Sam Peter in 2005. But if you compare his performance to the trash talking he did, then it was a bad performance. Even if you forget the talk about chopping of Wlads head, or that he would need an ambulance after the fight. Just his talk he has an excellent strategy against Wlad, bull****. He did what every other fighter did against Wlad. Try to avoid the jab, and the right straight that follows it, and try to hit the one punch that should but Wlad into trouble. I do not hate him as a boxer, he is quite good, but if you do so much trash talking as Haye did, than it is obvious that the trash talk turns against you if you are unable to back it up just a little bit. I think people would be less dissapointed if he really tried to go after Wlad, but mostly he threw wide swings which mostly missed the target (the percentage of missed punches was about the same for both, so either Haye is unable to land punches, or Wlad was just to fast in his defensive movements). Anyway, I think Haye deserves some heat, just because of his trash talk.
Haye didnt live up to his hype and deserves a lot of stick, but to see all the front page articles and threads on here about him is not suprising, thats just the way the yanks are for the most part At the end of the day haye landed some decent shots on wlad and the fight was tense for most of it, it wasnt a walk in the park for klit, but talk of a rematch and hayes excuses about his toe are not good, just take your meds david and move on, if you want another shot then beat another contender This talk about wake me up when the fight starts and all the other stuff that some americans go on about, are these guys actually boxing fans i wonder?? Did they watch mosley, how about their heavy condenders, what a joke, maybe they would rather watch the likes of alexander get another gift decision
