even 147 isn't the division it was, what big names have they got? cotto coming off a loss and margo who's only good win is cotto, paul williams isn't a big name, and he may even not be fighting at 147. hatton isn't a welterweight he's a JWW. if JMM and pac are going to 140, it will be a very good division again.
Hatton is the best at 140, Pacquaio is the best at 135 and has the ability to go up in weight, Mayweather is the best at 147 before retirment and has the ability to go down. Its natural that people should talk about the possibility of fights involving the three of them plus Ricky is now trained by Floyd Sr - don't tell me that that wouldn't add some spice.
he doesn't need any hype , pacquaio will want to fight him due to what he brings to the table and the fact he is the recognised champ at one of the only weights pac is yet to conquer. and i dont think anyones claouring for a floyd re-match are they? pac-hatton would be a damn sight more competeitive than the fight on saturday, while it lasts.
hatton vs pbf II would be a joke again. hatton ain't nowhere near mayweathers class. pacman footwork would be to much for hatton to cope with. pbf vs pacman would be huge!
Oh you didn't know? This is Ricky v2.0, the Uber-Hatton, The Manchester Cyborg. Floyd Mayweather Sr. fed him a bunch of senzu beans and increased his power level to OVER 9000 (!) and he can now turn super saiyan. He's now got the reflexes of a cat, the speed of a mongoose and the intelligence of Skynet, and an adamantium chin. If you shot him in the face point blank with a 12 gauge his expression would not change and his hair would remain perfect; he would gaze upon you with a smile so full of pity that you would shrivel up and die at the realization of your own inferiority. He can generate lightning from his fingertips. He would defeat every titlist from all four sanctioning bodies in every division from straw to heavy back to back to back on the same night, and still beat Floyd Jr. the next night without sleeping a wink 120-84 (two knockdowns in every round). Do NOT underestimate the new improved Hatton!!!!! :fire
These are the two biggest reasons that the fight is getting talked up as much as it is. Hatton is a mega-draw, moreso than is Floyd Mayweather (you have to think globally here; Hatton is larger in the UK than PBF is in the USA), and he is The Ring's champion at 140, a weight which is the next step up in terms of Pacquiao's quest to earn further championships at different weight divisions (last stop = 135 lbs. title vs David Diaz). With ODLH being beaten as soundly as he just was, a Pac-Hatton bout could be one of the largest potential income-generating fights in all of boxing. There are 90 million people in the Phillipines who revere Pac as a demigod, many of the 61 million plus in the UK (not to mention Ireland and the rest of Europe) who like Hatton and that's not even counting any of the fans of both fighters (and their number is growing) here in the United States. From a pure boxing perspective, any fight involving PBF rather than Hatton is a more compelling bout because Floyd beat Hatton. But given Pac's goals of winning championships at various weight classes (including The Ring championships, I'd imagine), the money that could be made from the fight and Floyd's unknown status at this time, a potential Pac-Hatton fight has to seem extremely attractive for both fighters and the sport.
