Whats with all the Newbies?...

to all inturlektallz newbies.
sorry for the hate som of us more...experienced posters give you. the thing with boxing is that it's a passiontate sport and sides get taken very easily,and when you get a guy talking about "khan would spark hatton" with only 25 posts...you usually take sides.

there are guys who are older but have known about boxing for half there lives and when they get on a forum they will say words of wisdom....this is rare and you'll get people with little knowledge who will make a thread of anythign they amn well please...it's terrible.

but i must admit i learned alot of my knowledge through this site. my first thread was the legendary "biceps are useless" thread and what does "pbf mean" (to be honest i hate thiese short names but once yougot them then you are sorted

In defence of Jeff I took this thread to be more of an observation of the influx of newbies recently than complaining to be fair.

 

its ok - i just find it funny when i look how long ppl have been a member & most of you a few months to just over a year & your the ones complaining theres a influx of noobs - would you & jeff prefer if we let in say 5 noobs a month

 

What do you define as a newbie? Somebody who's not been here for long? Or somebody who may have been registered here a while yet not made many posts?

 

Iv no problem with it at all. I was a newbie to this forum at the beggining of 07 i think and pretty new to boxing alltogether and iv learnt loads off of here and other sources that i now feel confident posting my oppinions. You gotta start somwhere. Sure youll get some knob head newbies but you get alot of knob heads on here that arn't newbies. (im in between i guesss:yep )

 

But how do you know Jeff was here for a year? My ''date joined'' says March 2007 but technically ive been on the boards since late 04 under different names and being inactive.

 

I've no problems with newbies but its the ****ing kids that drive me nuts!!!

 

Well Steelem, considering Jeff is a pro boxer, that kinda excuses him from noob status!
If you can understand what Im saying. & you should, as you are even older than me, so theres no excuse this time

 

how do we know that these noobs arent pro boxers does that excuse them or maybe they might have an everlast vest - would that excuse em dunky - boxer or no boxer if your a noob your a noob -

 

Im simply critisising the fact that if you open a thread like this - surely you would expect a member to be here for yrs - I can understand with you why jeff would want to change his name or at least shorten it for the boards but normal ppl stick to one username!!

 

I will take this opportunity to point out I was on these forums years ago under a different user until some wank mod went on a power trip and banned me for next to nothing!

 

I'm puzzled by your response as I haven't actually complained.

I'm relatively new to the forum myself and I've acknowledged that some newbies get harsh treatment on here.

If you read my posts (not just in this thread) you will know I do make an effort to make newcomers feel welcome.
