Let me get this straight. The guy comes out of retirement after nearly 3 years and chooses:

    A. To fight Roy Jones Jr.
    B. To fight him without a tune-up
    C. To fight a fighter who cant get to 160lbs

And we have posters here who are acting like he got taken advantage of. :patsch

He chose Roy, calling him out through Don King. He also chose to not have a tune-up, which is a stupid decision. And finaly, get real... Tito didnt want to make 160lbs or lower either.

Bottom line: This was a big money ploy with a fighter which he thought he could exploit due to his weak chin even given all the other disadvantages THAT TITO CREATED FOR HIMSELF. He couldnt though.

He did alright not having a tune-up fight. I would like to see him come back and fight around 160.

They both looked alright - but Jones just looked better last night.

I agree, and to be truthful in the first 4-5 maybe even 6-7 rounds Tito looked ****in lethal in there and would have taken out many fighters that were less calibre than RJJ.

i agree, there is no reason to feel bad for tito. judging from how he looked physically and the road he took to get to this fight, i dont think tito took this fight other than for the money involved. he got his money, so congrats tito

Nag I think he has plenty of money, I think it's the fact he loved to be on the spotlight and since most of his fans are on Cotto's bandwagon it might have pissed him off?

It was a stupid decision to fight Jones at 170. He did it for money.

I thought he would do a lot worse than he did and I think Roy thought it was going to be an easier fight in the beginning until Tito started attacking him. I give Tito a lot of credit he looked better than any fighter I've ever seen coming off such a long layoff. I dont think ive seen a guy come off such a long lay off but those who do (1-2yr), they typically perform a lot worse than Tito did last night. ESPECIALLY since he was fighting a much higher weight than he has ever fought professionally.

Dont get me wrong, I respect Tito for giving a good fight. Its the people who think he was in some way victimized by Roy that I have issue with. It was fair game, Tito is a richer man this morning, and its not as if he was beaten badly.

    This is just boxing folks.

i agree but tito looked his best, in my oppinion, when he fought mayorga and he was also comming off of a layoff. maybe his style just doesnt suffer as much from ring rust as others might.

Tito just needs to drop to 160 or less. He would still be a force to be recognized in those divisions. Roy looked great last night and Tito can't hurt big men period.

I havent seen the fight yet but from the way people describe it, he seemed
to look better against Jones than against Winky. Does this mean Tito was
just more motivated last night or does this prove that Winky and Hopkins are
just better than Roy? Keep in mind we just saw Hops and Wink fight at 170
    last year.

I felt a little bad when the crowd wasn't really reacting much when he was getting interviewed and he was shouting out Puerto Rico.

Then I remember he's getting paid 8 figures and I stopped feeling sorry for him.

We should all be so "poor".

This was nothing more than another payday for trinidad, But he did look very good in those early rounds considering but clearly most of us knew going in that Tito has no bussines fighting at 160-170.
