Any news on a fight coming up? Technically the most beautiful fighter out there in terms of fluidity of combinations and aesthetically pleasing moves. At one time labeled the next "Golden Boy" and what not, but seems to be missing SOMETHING. There is no reason he should have THREE losses. Maybe the one from a determined DeMarco but the other two were so out of left field.

So I guess this thread is in regards to 2 questions. 1) Any fights coming up? 2) What do you think hes missing? And please no unneccesary bashing. If you've followed him as long as I have you probably feel just as unfulfilled in terms of how good and talented this man is and should be

3 big things he's missing are a chin, defense, and power.

I guess he gets pretty effected by smelling his own blood, he was outlanding DeMarco wide in punchstats and suddenly "El NiƱo de Oro" gets cut in the nose and from that point on, is a bloody mess and Linares looking down at the deck with blood steaming down like sweat... Even DeMarco had to take a knee to comfort him cause he was still bleeding to the canvas...

Paper face, a questionable chin, and no real ability to defend. Still love to watch him box, but he needs a new trainer.

Why is he missing something and why aren't we just giving props to Demarco? Just because you are faster, hit harder or box better doesn't mean you will win. Boxing is about desire, heart, stamina, chin and all the other stuff too.

Linares is good but Demarco is better, I think the same thing happens if they fight again. Demarco is just too tough.

In all fairness, I have to give Linares some props for his toughness in the DeMarco fight: His nose was BUSTED UP BAD - you could actually see the pain on his face - and he kept trying to fight. He had just taken too much damage and couldn't pull it out.

Demarco is the kryptonite for any "boxer"; he's a mexican, solid chinned, long, hard punching, tough SOB. He's just a chore to hurt or knockout, and he earned that win and this type of fighter will just always give boxers, no matter how gifted or masterful, problems. Linares' issues are with durability and power (although he gets great snap on his punches). Very similar to the same weaknesses Khan has, but I'd go so far as to say Linares is the more gifted fighter.
