If you take away all of El Chicano's GGG threads he's not very hyped.

Ward ducks GGG to become a HBO commentator .. Golovkin's fault.

Chavez Jr. ducks GGG and signs a contract so he won't be able to fight .. Golovkin's fault.

Sergio Martinez fights Cotto , who was beaten by Trout even though Golovkin calls him out for almost 2 years .. Golovkin's fault.

Felix Sturm ducks GGG and even gives his title away to avoid him .. Golovkin's fault.

Martin Murray ducks GGG three times in a row and suddenly disappears from boxing .. Golovkin's fault.

Carl Froch says he would never fight GGG .. Golovkin's fault.

Floyd Mayweather didn't even mention the name GGG after Golovkin's statement he will fight in 154, Guerrero was a better opponent .. GGG's fault.

Peter Quillin avoid GGG, has a big mouth and ducks him when he calls him out .. Golovkin's fault.

Did I miss someone? I am sure there are more.

Ward did NOT duck GGG. If anything GGG ducked Ward. That being said, I'm OK with that lol. Ward is just a spoiler and I'd rather see GGG wreck up all the middleweights than get beat by boring ass Ward.

It's the power. Casual fans love power punchers. Also, strong amateur background so you can buy into the hype a bit more and feel secure about it.

No. GGG wanted to fight Ward, while he decided to become a commentator and his last fight was against a nobody. No he's allegeldy back and calls out GGG? He has other plans. Ward is the same as Haye, being loud, calling people out and then disappearing.

You realize that different styles make for different fights.
Martinez rocked Macklin 2 times early in the fight, Macklin went into defensive mode made Sergio stalk, then he tried to counter him all night.
Sergio doesn't fight like that, the KD was a push over his knee, when he was KO'd he looked out of it, very dazed.

Macklin came back with a 1st round KO of Alcine, that bolstered his ego and made him think he could charge GGG, which was a terrible decision.
GGG fights totally different from Martinez, Macklin had been out of action for almost a year, and looked slightly out of shape for the GGG fight.

Macklin is overrated, probably would be KO'd by Lemieux and Stevens earlier than GGG did because of their styles, Martinez could have KO'd him earlier had he pushed the action like the Williams fight.

GGG will be exposed by the first skilled boxer he fights, possibly by Martinez if he's healthy.

It's the KOtards on this board. Matthysse and Stevenson have been brought down to earth. It's only a matter of time for Wilder, Kovalev and GGG.

Wilder and Kovalev might but I think GGG will continue to dominate. He has skills.

    :deal

Take away all the hype threads that are disguised as trolls (like this one) and you really arent left with a lot. Just some random discussion when another MW card is on, or Ward says something silly. (an increasingly frequent occurrence)

    A true!

Thurman and Porter haven't done **** yet. They may live up to their hype but they have a long ways to go.

as for Wilder. I don't think anyone is really buying his hype. at least not yet. It is more of a HOPE than Hype

You're right about Wilder. Thurman is indeed hyped. Possible nearly as much as GGG. Porter on the other hand doesn't get that much hype and he has two really good wins on his resume so he deserves whatever props he has been getting so far.
