Demarco didn't quit, his corner stopped the fight. He was still in the fight in the 9th round, punching and moving, even though he was all but done after the 8th. He showed great heart in this fight but honestly if he stayed in there he could have died, so it was an excellent decision by his corner.

Mexican boxing has been in decline for awhile now. Mexico needs to train boxers more like JMM and Rafa Marquez than Chavez. This obsession with machismo with a smaller emphasis on defense, technical skills, and boxing ability makes for shorter careers and shorter lives.

Good point, despite my previous point. Just like Pac v. DLH. Mexicans who called DLH a quitter after that fight are brain dead losers. When you have no chance of victory, what's the point? If you dont even have the hope of that one shot, no reason to continue.

How long is "a while"? It seems like no more than a year and half ago when the PFP list had 3 or 4 PFP entrants from Mexico!

    It's a tough crowd here!

Exactly :good J Marquez,Vasquez,R Marquez,Margarito were on every ones top 10 pfp list in just a llittle over a year ago. Thats almost damn near 1/2 the list. When has any other country (outside the US) had that many PFP at any given time? Ill be waiting for the answer but i wont hold my breath. Only the US has had more quality fighters in modern era Mexico 2nd and whoever is after that is a DIiiiiiiiiiiistant 3rd!

DeMarco was already feeling sick and beat the **** up the round before, I'm surprised he came out for more punishment.

That's because besides having a chin a lot of Mexican fighters have no true boxing skill. They rely on their chin and a come forward approach. When they are up against a slick boxer they don't have a clue how to adapt and get frustrated to where they end up quitting.

SIDENOTE: Mexico's so called greatest boxer Chavez quit on more than one occasion.

    It's lonely at the top.

The amount of losers who come out of the woodworks everytime a Mexican boxer is defeated speaks volumes of Mexico's boxing legacy

Most of these guys were more boxers than punchers and could shut most world class fighters out by just boxing, And quite a few guys on this list could flip the scrip and knock you out if they wanted too. At least 1/2 the guys on this list are HOF,ATG or future HOfs the others World Champs or Very good fighters. Mares will be a world champ soon and has very good boxing skills. Also a lot of other sluggers i could name that could box if they wanted(Morales,Chavez,Saldivar etc etc) but these guys were more boxer punchers.
Wasnt it a MExican who outboxed Manny:huh Go learn something about Boxing before you start talking **** you fu*king Troll!

Come on it's demarco ffs, Valero is a big puncher. The fact that he didn't get KTFO in 1 and 2 rnds speaks volumes of his toughness. Remember EV was stopping fighters in ones and two rounds max.But there's no way he can take 9 rounds of a sustain beating from Edwin.

I think we have to kill all of that Mexican warrior stuff now. It's seems like Mexican fighters quit more than any other group in boxing nowadays. If you quit, you should quit because you're about to die or be seriously injured and not because it's too tough for you. These guys are no tougher or have no more heart than any other group of fighters.
