But it's that "Mexican warrior" mentality that has given us so many classic exciting fights.

It's just plaint dumb of you or anyone to expect ALL Mexicans to come out and fight like that!

I never said I expected all Mexican fighters to fight like that personally. I'm saying we've been told that that's who they are and they're tougher than everybody else and I've never believed in that. What made the Mexicans tougher than Hagler, Gatti, or any other fighters? Tough fighters are tough regardless of their background. I've always given fighters the credit that they deserved for their toughness no matter who they were, because it's deserved.

It's not that they know they're about to die, but they know when something is wrong in most cases.

you heard demarco say his body wasn't responding, that's pretty serious bro....he didnt quit, his corner stopped it.....if you dont understand spanish then let me tell you what happened.........quirarte said he was gonna stop it and demarco was pleading with him to let it continue, quirarte had enough and just waved it off......no shame in that

If that's what happened, I have no problem with it. It's one of the jobs of the trainer to protect the fighter from himself, but he didn't seemed to bothered by the stoppage in my opinion.

different fighters different emotions bro....when you respect your trainer, and when they have a bond such as demarco and quirarte, there really isn't much to do but respect the decision.....more trainers should take notes and really love their fighters the way only a few trainers do......

I understand that, but you should still see some kind of negative emotion from the fighter. The only thing I could think of is that he had given up somewhat mentally already.

its because they asked him 10 times if he wanted to go on in the last round and his body lanquage said he didnt...head down...
but who cares.....he took alot of punishment...unlike past quitters like camacho jr, chavez , nate campbell, rahman

Demarco at times looked like a punching bag in there, slow up-right.Had nothing just taking punches for the majority of the rounds. He had no power to stop Valero walking him down. So the stoppage was spot on. De marco might have been bigger. But there was no doubting Valero was the stronger fighter of the two.

I think Demarco has good power(see his other fights) but he did fight to Passive. I think Valero had a lot to do with that.
If it seemed like Demarco dont have much power i just think it has more to do with Valeros good chin.
