He showed an excellent chin, but it seemed to be on the verge of cracking and he was getting battered any time he tried throwing anything. It was safer to stop than to continue by far

It was the right decision and probably could have ended after the 8th round. Every time he opened up even a bit he ate 2-3 big counters from Valero. When he stayed defensive, Valero would corner and tee off on him at will then move away to evade his retaliation. It was a total mental and physical beatdown. I think DeMarco would have been finished later in the 10th round or definitely some time in the 11th as Valero turned up the aggression to close out the show. The only thing keeping DeMarco up on his legs was his iron chin and pride.

General rule of thumb on fighters "quitting", if you're not eating the punches and if you're not in the heat of battle you should STFU about it.

A fighter doesn't "quit" because he wants to. He does it because he's getting battered and is out of options. I'll take a guy quitting over a guy getting wheeled out 10 times out of 10.

Give the kid a break. I didn't, and many others didn't, expect the fight to go into the 9th round. He showed a great chin and he showed heart by walking forward and giving it one final go in the last couple of rounds before the fight was stopped. Valero just adjusted and was just too good for DeMarco. It was a good stoppage by his corner, because more than likely he wasn't going to get that one punch and end the fight.

I know you're not very intelligent so you can't comprehend what I'm saying, but where was I wrong? A fighter who wanted to continue wouldn't show any kind of emotion?

Tons of fighters I can think of were disappointed when their fight was stopped. Demarco looked disappointed but also very comfortable with the decision.

    Sometimes yer just beat.

First off, you are going to the extreme.I never said he had to act crazy. I said he would've shown some type of emotion and he obviously didn't. Why refer to Zab as a ******? To me, the guy quit and he had no problem with the stoppage.

"No Mas" wasn't from taking a beating, it was from being disgusted with the type of "fight"(if thats what you want to call it) leonard was fighting.

you ever taken a hard punch to the head? let alone 50 from a murderous puncher. i was once buzzed for 45 minutes from a shot to my temple. i didnt really think about acting macho at the time.

I've been punched before and I kept fighting. Since I'm not a boxer it doesn't really matter how I responded anyway. He's paid to fight and that's what he chose to do. If it was anger, sadness, or whatever he would've shown some kind of emotion if he wanted to continue. How many fighters have you seen that wanted to continue show no type of emotion when the corner or the ref stops the fight?
