i think its because the criticism comes from the usual suspects. mexican fighters have earned that reputation and continue to earn it every day. when a big fight involves a mexican, there is a better than 50% chance that it is going to be a real fight.
then you have the critics who coincidently claim to be lovers of the art of boxing and cant stand how people respect heart so much and slicksters arelooked down on for their desire to not get beat instead of desiring to win. it sounds like the same thing, but it is not.

You're not the one getting battered to the face. Although not quitting is very brave but it's not smart. DeMarco's corner did the right thing. He could've sustained more damaged if they've let the fight go on and that could've ended his career right there.

How have they earned it more than anyone else? What about Gatti, Hagler, Mancini, Pryor, Arguello, Meldrick Taylor, Frazier, Mosley, Holyfield, Jirov, and many others.

Why do you think that slick fighters have less heart than brawlers? Are you questioning Leonard's, Pep's, Ray Robinson's, or even Mayweather's heart? These guys were/are slick fighters, but they've slugged before and came out victorious.

This thread is stupid. There are warriors and quitters and people in between in all sports and all races.

Just face the truth, the real quitters are the people who never tried or tried something and didn't do it because they were too lazy or it was too hard. I don't condone it, but why should anyone else cry about someone else quitting. There is nothing wrong inherently with quitting and if people were so dumb to keep trying at something that will inevitably not go their way.

Everyone in this forum quit at something. Whether it was quitting trying to win an argument on this forum or changing career paths, breaking up wih a gf, it's all quittin

The real contradiction on this forum is criticizing the professional who is dedicating their time, energy, and physical well being just for a pay check. I'm sure a lot of those fighters put more effort in their training that more than 90% of the forum writers would quit that workout after 20 min. I'm also sure a lot of those fighter would rather do something else if they had better socioeconomic standing, and would be plain dumb for them to get knocked out to impress 3 fans on this forum vs giving a 10 year career of good fights and winning a lot more money for their family.

Quitting whether it's done by the fighter or corner usually comes with the wisdom of living on to fight another day and supporting their family, not a subjective vision of glory.

Addressing the ethnic issue. That's also plain stupid. There are tough people and fragile people in all cultures. There happens to be more warrior mentality fighters from Mexico because that is partially due to culture and the style of fighting shown in that part of the world, which is to pressure and wear down the opponent. That style favors fighters with good chins and endurance. Not every fighter can fight that style because they don't have the physical equipment for it, but of course the fighters who make it on top will seem that way and produce a image of Mexican fighters being that way. Show 8,000 Mexican fighters the pressure style and 4 make it into the top 10 p4p list of course they all look tough. It's a misrepresentation and nobody thinks about the 7,996 club and fringe contenders who didn't make it.

SoxNation is a plain idiot for criticizing professional fighters and bringing up ethnic issues, and so is the thread starter.

    I'm quitting this thread, peace!
