This has totally got me stumped!!! He beats an overrated Miranda and Taylor (who simply got too comfortable and careless at the top of the division and prepared all wrong) and suddenly He is P4P material, fighter of the year and the best thing since sliced bread!! Before these 2 there is nothing special on his record!! And the sad thing is its not just the fans!! He is seriously appearing in the top 10 of many supposedly credible P4P lists!!!

    Cmon yanks, give it up.

Tell me about it. He's on P4P lists above the likes of Vasquez and other fighters with great records against better fighters (just one's you don't hear about everyday)...

They seriously think he's the best thing since oxygen sometimes and he's like fighter of the year etc etc...

Credit where credit is due, but c'mon. Be serious.

Boxrec has him above Calzaghe!! :patsch

    What a joke!!

(not that i consider boxrec's P4P list in any way credible)

i hear what your saying but the fact of the matter is that he is the best middleweight in the world... partly because it is a weak division and partly because of his raw power and style. The only person i could see beating him at middleweight is possibly Winky - his defense might really frustrate Kelly. I think he would plough through Abraham and Sturm is a stinker. I have him in the top 20 p4p for sure but i agree with you that he isnt in the 10 - let alone above JC and Israel Vasquez

I have Pavlik behind guys like Israel Vazquez on the Pound4Pound lists.
Still tho he is borderline top 10. He is an all action fighter, who whether you like it or not had a awesome 2007.
Beat top 15-20 contender Zertuche back in January, beat a legitamate top 5 contender in Edison Miranda & then beat the recognized Middleweight world champ Jermain Taylor.
Cant wait for next year so i can see more of The Ghost.
Easily 1 of my fav international fighters too.

Yeah the jury's still out on him i reckon.

He is a top fighter with a great 2007, but i want to see him in a few more big name fights before i include him in my top 10 p4p.

Calzaghe has been a champ for over 10 years and only recently entered top ten calculations. Kelly is on the right track but the accolades are too over the top at the minute.

So if Kat beats diaz should that elevate him to tope 10 P4P simply because he's an all action fighter who has beaten 1 worthy opponent???

Anyone except PBF above Israel Vazquez shouldnt be there.

Pavlik is a champ!! He isnt the Ring fighter of the year for nothing, he destroys fighters with huge power and his skills are very underrated.

I said it before, Pavlik will be underfeated for years to come.

he's not even in my top 20 TBH. To earn a top 10 spot a fighter needs to have multiple defences, maybe a 2nd weight division really showed some dominance. Simply because he is promising (and dont any of you get me wrong - I think he's a great fighter with lots of promise!!) and taken 1 major player down (I think miranda is way overrated), that isnt even CLOSE to earning him a P4P spot!!

im a big fan of the ghost. I think the extra weight in the Taylor rematch will favour him well.

How does he go at 168? I would love to see him fight Kessler - it would be a brawl

i think pavlik is a very good fighter, and he will continue to dominate, but i do think its a little early for top 10 p4p
