:good Yeah , think Baldomir/ Mayweather

While Baldomir certainly got schooled . I am sure he did not feel like he got a beating by any stretch of the imagination.

Especially if you are still able to stand up . Maybe your ego is a little altered and bruised... You're taking the guys best shots over and over. But you are still there.

I cant see how that can ruin you more than being laid out on the floor concussed with a VERY REAL THREAT OF YOU DYING RIGHT THERE LAYING ON THE FLOOR. I just don't see it.

Ok definition of a schooling Lewis-tua schooled in the noble art

Clazaghe-lacy was different it was a 12 round sustained beating:yep That left lacy half the fighter he was before:good

A good beating like that can take something away from a fighter same as 2 fighters that have been in a war, take benn after he fought mcclenan he wasn't the same fighter as it took a lot out of him. You can argue it was something to do with gerald's injury but i think it was more due to punishment he dished out on nige.

A 12 round schooling/beat down is far worse then getting caught cold :bbb

But anyone cant land a " lucky " shot. If that is the case when fighting a pottshotting runner all you have to do is get " lucky ".What you need in your scenario is skill. Maybe alittle timing. Maybe a little more experience.

Maybe not try to punch after a fighter and punch with a fighter. But to do that agasint a slickster your feet cant be like they are stuck in cement.

The truth is a fighter that calls another a runner while getting potshotted ; has glaring flaws and weakness.

They bounce when they are not doing anything . And basically have no movement when they set to punch. Its really more their fault for no success than the " runner"

When you are bouncing up and down and then stop ...EVERYONE KNOWS YOU ARE GOING TO START PUNCHING.

The only time it doesnt look silly is when they are fighting someone just like that.

People are coming at this from different angles.

From the boxers own point of view, a first round KO is more embarassing than anything else as you were never in the fight, however it doesn't mean your opponent was a better boxer; Khan's still a better boxer than Prescott, he's just a chinless wonder.

A 12 round schooling, on the other hand, is a clear indication that the other guy was better than you. It leaves absolutely no doubt in anybody's mind as to who the better boxer is. Lacy, for example, wouldn't have beaten Calzaghe had the fight gone 50 rounds; he was outclassed from start to finish.

It doesn't have to be a severe beating. The mental aspect of being outclassed in every way is much more important here.

Depends on the fighter that did the embarassing.

Getting knocked out in the 1st round by Cory Spinks is of course far more embarassing than getting schooled over 12 rounds by Spinks.

Getting schooled and outclassed over 12 rounds by Ricardo Mayorga is far more embarassing than getting stopped in the first round by Mayorga.

I agree.... With Mayorga on subject, even though he didn't knock out Forrest in the 1st, I thought Forrest would for sure adjust and come back to win in the second encounter.... Didn't happen though I think Forrest is the better boxer by far, still baffles me.:yep
