I also thought Tarver knocking Roy out in the second, was better than schooling him for 12 rounds like he did the 3rd fight.... At least then I could say Roy just got caught will a killer punch, after the 3rd fight, all I could say is Roy Jones is done for good, which broke my heart.

that's really the essence of the argument.

a lot depends on the fighter, circumstance and the fighter (and his rep) who beat him.

nobody's going to judge paul williams because he had his chance to redeem himself and did it in style.

but nobody's going to judge roy jones too(for losing to tarver) for different reasons.

it all depends on the fighter and circumstance.

Fans forget the schooling if the fighter improves or gets back on track. But never the KO.

Getting beat for 12 rounds is more embarrassing because you can make excuses for getting cold cocked in the first, but you can't make excuses for being beating for 12 rounds straight.

    depends on the situation.

in the am's there is no excuse, for sure, but in the pro's it depends on a lot of things.

12 round schooling....not on the same level. 1 rnd ko...may be just caught, but can also be not on the same level, depending on the manner of ko
