Seeing as how MASSIVE Brook is he'll be a permanent 160 now? Or as soon as he gets whooped he'll be back fighting IBF mandatory at 147.
Easily, let me explain it, son. Look. Canelo was the champ at Middleweight, Golovkin was his mandatory. Canelo avoided GGG and fought Khan instead of GGG. Now, here's the difference. No one wants to fight GGG. The only elite fighter willing to step into the ring with GGG is Brooks. He will move up the weight class, he will fight at MW. It's basically the same you guys except GGG to do, Moving up the weight class.
Erislandy Lara, Austin Trout, Ward @168, Canelo @ 155 Read this and be informed: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2016/01...has-been-calling-golovkin-out-for-a-year-now/ :deal
Both bad. Canelo-Khan is worse because Canelo could've fought Golovkin or Saunders, but that in no way means I'm thrilled about Brook-GGG.
Canelo is more proven than Golovkin. How so? You determine someone's worth based on his resume. Khan seems to be the more complete fighter, and Brook's best win is dull against Porter in a hug-fest, but not sure is more skilled.
I say ggg vs brook bcus even tho I like ggg he should have declined and found a more worthy opponent but at the same time maybe it was the money he was offered
GGG-Brook hands down. Dragging up Brook to 160 who only one good win in Porter at 147 and people forgot about as a fighter is much worse than Canelo fighting Khan which was fought at a catch weight.
Canelo is a Jr. MW who fought another Jr. MW for MW belt @ 155, a CW proposed by Cotto who he himself won the MW crown and defended it at below the 160 limit. Khan moved up 8 lbs to fight Canelo at 155. Canelo has never fought above 155 and most GGGstans say Canelo is overrated and feather fisted. :deal Golovkin is a career MW dragging a welter weight 13 lbs. yet refused to fight Ward just 8 lbs north and Canelo just 5 lbs south.
The point is the weight advantage is similar though. Canelo and Golovkin weigh about the same fight night.
If he's doing a catchweight that would make it even worse because he wouldn't do a catchweight for Canelo.
I agree. He's faster, more elusive and is more accurate than any of GGG's opponants also. My only worry for Brook is his skills don't move up in weight, if he lacks his snap and move at this weight and gasses, it's an early night for him, I'm saying that as a huge fan of both. Ideal world this would be at 154lbs or even a CW 158lbs I think the size advantage will be too much for Brook, as a Brit, I hope I'm wrong.
