Way I see it its a way of neutralizing an offense. To fans its easy to say its spoiling the fight, but then they're not on the receiving end of the punches. I also think if a fighter is smart enough to tie up an opponent, then that opponent should also point out that pattern that is being used on him to neutrailze his offense. There are many ways to avoid a clinch or make fighters think twice about trying to clinch their opponent. So whenever I see a fighter using the punch punch + clinch or punch punch + push I want to see how the opponent handles it. I don't put full blame on the instigator.
