Just make the ffffiiinnn fights happen!

    In recent years:

    Floyd Pac
    Bute Ward
    Stevenson Kovalev

These fights didn't happen because of fighters.

HBO wanted the Kovalev/Stevenson fight, but Stevenson did not.............so he signed with Showtime so as to avoid him...........

Its obvious why people have a problem with Adonis jumping ship.

He will now most likely not fight the most meaningful fight at his weightclass, a fight HBO was actively looking to make happen soon, and one of the most anticipated fights in boxing period.

I don't see why that's hard to get.

Obviously, if Adonis is getting paid a lot more to go with Showtime, then I don't see how anyone can really fault him, but lets not pretend we don't know why people are sour about it. I really don't see anything positive for the fans to be happy about with this news....

I think the TS addressed all the points u made.

To reiterate, none would have turned down the path Stevenson is taking if we`re being honest. With that being said, how can we claim he`s ducking or scared when we would all make the same choice?

I think he's a POS and will b glad if loses his next fight but I would have made the same choice if I was in his position. Like the TS said, if both fighters keep winning then that set up a potential fight for the undisputed LHW crown next year.

Seriously, if YOU were Adonis Stevenson, what would you do? Would you fight Fonfara for more money and then Hopkins/Shumenov afterward for 2 more titles and more money?
Or fight Fonfara for less money (or the same amount) and then Kovalev afterward for less than you'd get for a Hopkins fight?

The only people we should be mad at is HBO and Showtime for their network beef

I see very well why people are upset. Maybe my question isn't why are they upset. But why are people putting all the blame of Stevenson?

Because he's ultimately the one who destroyed the possibility of this fight happening.

It still can happen. Just will take longer than expected now :verysad

Does anybody know how long Kovalev's contract with HBO is? We also don't know how many fights Showtime has Stevenson for

And there's no guarantee that Stevenson-Kovalev won't ever happen, so in that case this is all much ado about nothing. A fighter merely got a better deal for his already determined next fight.

Hopkins-Stevenson is not a big money fight.
